The long journey

happened• We are all on a journey

• They did not recognize him - veiled

• “But they did not see Jesus.”
Explaining the Word …
• Did not the Messiah have to suffer?
• Beginning with Moses and the prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures.

The risen Lord journeys with us• Jesus came alongside those travellers and had the
patience to listen to their story and their sorrow• The church embodies that care• We are to care for and come alongside each other in
the journey of faith.

The risen Lord meets us in worshipWord• The apostles continued to
make Jesus known through the ministry of the Word.
• “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinth 15:3-4)

The risen Lord waits to transform us• To make known to the world our risen Lord, so that
the world might be transformed.• Removing the veil• “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the
Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
