Content Standards and Draft Benchmarks that are addressed in Later Elementary Students: 1.1: Time and Chronology – Comprehension of the process
of the coffee beans – from growth to drinking. 1.2: Comprehending the Past – the student will be able to
recall when and where the coffee beans were first discovered.
1.3: Analyzing and Interpreting the Past – the students will compete in a jeopardy game to see who wins the pound of Biggby Coffee Beans!
11.3: Location, Movement and Connections – The students will recognize where the best places are to grow and collect coffee beans
MICHIGAN CORE CURRICULUM CONTINUED:
Teaching and Learning: Viewing a film: on how to properly prepare
espresso for drinks. Discussion: with class they will participate
in a jeopardy game on their understanding of coffee and it’s process.
