Ministry Ventures creates relational environments that mature leaders in ministry Best Practices of Ministry Model, Fundraising, Board of Directors, Administration and Prayer.
The MINISTRY MASTERY® program provides intensive coaching and support in the Best Practices and connection to an extensive community of mentors and peers. This focus on fundamentals helps ministry leaders achieve greater impact and position their ministries for growth. In The Emyth Revisited, Michal Gerber notes the need to work “on” the ministry as well as “in” the ministry. Our role is to help leaders work “on” the ministry to further the work of their ministries.
MV certified ministries operate their ministries with excellence. Donors and investors view this certification as an indication of positive stewardship of their resources. Your specific training in the 5 Best Practices equips you to advance God’s kingdom through your ministry. Ministry leaders can build strong foundations for successful ministry by learning and applying the Five Best Practices:

THE ART OF THE STORY TEMPLATE
Latest Revision: July 2013 Copyright 2013 BreakThruFundraising.com Used with permission
When it comes to making “the Invitation” (the Ask), 90% of asking is based on the foundation of effectively presenting your work through your story. In this text, we’ll provide the outline and script starters to make it easier to engage your audience and then transition as a natural next step into making “the Invitation.” The key is to go with your natural personality style. Make it yours, and watch people join you to help your organization fulfill its mission! Here’s a simple yet powerful story outline, which ultimately, makes “the Ask” an easy and natural transition. The Art of the Story – How you paint the picture of your organization’s work and the life impact you’re having is important for engaging people to join you on this exciting journey. Think about how Hollywood tells stories: the battle between good versus evil. In more familiar terms, clarify the problem you address and the solution you offer. Here are the questions to consider as you begin to share your story and the results of your work:
a. What is the problem or problems your organization addresses? Use a staggering statistic to illustrate the problem, need, or cause.
b. How did _____ get started? Frame how your organization was formed around the problem just noted. (Emotional attraction)
c. Who is ____ (your organization)? (Your Vision)
d. What does ____ (your organization) do? (Your Mission – assuming it’s short and crystal clear)
e. How does ____ solve this problem? (Your Model)
f. Your role (Why you’re involved/connected to this cause? Here or earlier) I’m involved….
g. What have you accomplished last year/this year/to-‐date? (Testimonials, life impact, statistics, success stories, DVD, YouTube videos, pictures, history, etc.)
h. What’s next and by when? (“Money Follows Vision” principle) (Goals, more people served, new programs, new facility, expanded capacity, illustrations, etc.).
i. What will it cost? Our budget to accomplish these goals is $________. We’re in the middle of our ____ campaign to raise $50,000 to help the next ___ people in need.
j. (Transition – Asking Permission to Ask) Would you like to hear how ___________ (the community, God, our partners, etc.) is supporting us to reach our funding goal to help with ______________Current Needs__________________ (pull out reply card)?
k. (Explain the reply card) How it works, is some people like to give monthly and other like to give a special gift now. We’ve already raised $18,000 for ___ people in need.
l. Making “the Invitation” (pick one below or create your own that is most natural for you):
§ At what level would you like to join us to save X number of _____ through your gift?
§ I’d like to ask you…at what level is the Lord leading you to help _______ break free from _________?
m. Clarify next steps
