5 Then I said: "O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I

confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father's house, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have

not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses. 8

"Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, 9 but if you return to me and

obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a

dwelling for my Name.' 10 "They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. 11 O Lord, let your ear

be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by

granting him favor in the presence of this man." I was cupbearer to the king.

Matthew 6:9-12 (NIV) 9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in

heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11

James 4:2 (NIV) 2 You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you

cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.

John 15:16 (NIV) 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go

and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

John 16:24 (NIV) 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and

you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

6. When’s the right time to move forward?

Nehemiah 2:1-3 (NIV) 1 In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King

Artaxerxes, when wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the king. I had not been sad in his presence

before; 2 so the king asked me, "Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart." I was very much afraid, 3 but I said to the king, "May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when

the city where my fathers are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?"
