What is the power of prayer?

• The power of prayer is a simple one, it’s the power of god who hears and answers the prayer. God hears and answers all prayers from all those who don’t reject him. As Luke 1:37 says “The Lord God Almighty can do all things; there is nothing impossible for Him”

• Even Jesus him self told his disciples to pray and not give up in Luke 18:1.

What is the power of prayer?• In John 14:13-14 Jesus says “And I will do

whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

• This is why we say “I pray this in Jesus’ name”• The last 3 verses I encourage you to look up

are ; Psalm 18:6 , Psalm 17:6 , and Psalm 34:17

Why should we pray?

• There are alot of reasons to pray. It is a sign of faith and a form of serving and obeying the lord.

• God commands us to pray in Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Why should we pray?

• We also for help in major decisions, overcoming temptation , and in life itself.

• We also pray for others who may not believe or are just having issues that cloud their minds. Some think that just because God does not answer their prayer right away, that he is not listening. This is not a fact. Some times he does not answer immediately: he is an all knowing God and waits to answer at a more meaningful time, for your own good

Is their a certain way to pray?

Some people might tell you there is a specific way to pray there is not. The position of your hands or your body does not matter. All God cares about is that you pour out your heart and are not afraid to ask and talk to him. All that matters is that it comes from the heart and not other wicked desires.

Is their a certain way to pray?

• God wants to hear and listen and help you. He wants you to be free to come to him for anything and not just simply recite memorized words. As long as you pray to him with your heart and your heart is not full of wickedness he will hear you, he will listen and he will answer you.

The Lord’s Prayer

• “This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'“
