On the Road to an Islamic Empire

Prof. Zvi Sever is a professor at the University of Indianapolis in Indiana, United States.

We are now in the midst of dramatic transitions in the Moslem world, such as the revolution in

Tunisia, Egypt and other countries. The fundamental changes taking place encompass the

collapse of the organizational structure of the country and an attempt to recreate itself once

again.

As I stated in a letter dated March, 1996 to the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense,

Mr. Shimon Peres, an Islamic Empire is now in the process of rebirth and reformation. This

movement is rapidly growing stronger and spreading to different areas, so that it will eventually

include most of the so-called “Old World”, namely the European continent, Asia, Africa and

Oceania. Since the time of writing that document (see also “The Emergence of a New Islamic

Zvi Sever, 2008) this phenomenon has only gained momentum. The road to an Islamic Empire

will be paved by a combination of processes, and one of them will involve the transformation of

the basic organizational structure.

Thus, for example, the artificial process being forced upon the Arab world— the setting of

boundaries and the creation of new states— will become the first victim for the sake of

consolidation of the Islamic Empire. We will witness the dissolution of these states and the

organization of new rule, as will be realized through the “patches” method.

For this reason, more and more “patches of belonging” will appear on the map of those areas

that are still lacking statehood and have no definition and unifying cohesiveness.

Thus the “Hizbollah patch” appeared in Southern Lebanon, and another “patch” emerged in the

empowering of Hamas in northeast Egypt (what we refer to as the Gaza strip). There is also a

patch in the stronghold of the Taliban in Afghanistan and many other patches of control from

Muslim groups. In coming years we won’t be surprised to note old and new Muslim groups

which have taken dominion over certain geographical regions and follow a devout way of life

according to the religious dictates of Islam. This process, which is presently limited mainly to

the Arab world, will soon engulf other nations with other Muslim populations (Arabs comprise

only about 20% of the total Muslim population).

As this process continues, we will note how reconsideration will take place in the United States.

This nation, which crossed the oceans and brought about turmoil in the Old World during World

War II, has become the most influential nation on earth. For the first time in the history of the

human race, a mere 4% of people has radically affected 100% of the world’s population. And

this impact is perceptible in every tent, hut, house, apartment and building on the globe. Now

that they are experiencing the limitations of power against the unwavering convictions of the

Muslim faith, it seems that Americans are beginning a process of clarification which will

continue beyond the current (and possibly the next) Presidential Office of President Obama. At

the end of this process, and within a single decade, the American people will either withdraw or

disengage from the Old World, for the first time since World War II.

It must be remembered that we cannot change the irrevocable past, and therefore these

processes threaten the future existence of an autonomous Jewish State in this region of the

planet.

We, the Israeli people, are incapable of having any real impact on this highly significant process

of the 21st

century: the concretization of an Islamic Empire throughout most parts of

the Old World and the American reluctance to get involved in suppressing this. Thus,

we must be highly vigilant and aware as this dual process continues to unfold, and to

engage in internal dialogue concerning our place in the hierarchy of events.
