Sri Ramana Maharshi Sri Ramana Maharishi (January 9, 1879 – April 14,

1950), born Venkataraman Iyer, was a Hindu spiritual master ("jnani"). He was born to a Tamil-speaking Brahmin family in Tiruchuzhi, Tamil Nadu. After experiencing at age 16 what he later described as liberation (moksha), he left home for Arunachala, a mountain considered sacred by Hindus. He lived at the mountain for the rest of his life. Although born a Brahmin, he declared himself an "Atiasrami", a Sastraic state of non-attachment to anything in life and beyond all caste restrictions. The ashram that grew around him, Sri Ramana Ashram, is situated at the foothill of Arunchala, to the west to the pilgrimage town of Tiruvannamalai.( Wikipedia )

On HappinessHappiness is

your nature. It is not wrong

to desire it. What is wrong is

seeking it outside when it is inside.

How to be Happy Nearly all mankind is

more or less unhappy because nearly all do not know the true Self.

Real happiness abides in Self-knowledge alone.

All else is fleeting.

To know one's Self is to be blissful always.

Reforming Self The Remedy for Many ills in Life

Wanting to reform the world without discovering one's true self is like trying to cover the world with leather to avoid the pain of walking on stones and thorns. It is much simpler to wear shoes

What is Required in our Life

Nobody doubts that he exists, though he may doubt the existence of God. If he finds out the truth about himself and discovers his own source, this is all that is required.

Reality of Life – Give up EGO

Reality is simply the loss of ego. Destroy the ego by seeking its identity. Because the ego is no entity it will automatically vanish and reality will shine forth by itself.

What is the Reality

There is no greater mystery than this, that we keep seeking reality though in fact we are reality. We think that there is something hiding reality and that this must be destroyed before reality is gained.

How ridiculous! A day will dawn when you will laugh at all your past efforts. That which will be the day you laugh is also here and now.

I exist in Self – Realise the Truth

I exist' is the only permanent self-evident experience of everyone. Nothing else is so self-evident as 'I am'. What people call self-evident, that is, the experience they get through the senses, is far from self-evident. The Self alone is that. So to do self-enquiry and be that 'I am' is the only thing to do. 'I am' is reality. I am this or that is unreal. 'I am' is truth, another name for Self.

GOD in Everyone

Heart" is merely another name for the Supreme Spirit, because He is in all hearts.

The entire Universe is condensed in the body, and the entire body in the Heart.

Thus the Heart is the nucleus of the whole Universe

Strong Mind Can MeditateMeditation

Our Senses guide the Mind- Try to Control it The world is nothing

more than an embodiment of the objects perceived by the five sense-organs. Since, through these five sense-organs, a single mind perceives the world, the world is nothing but the mind. Apart from the mind can there be a world?

Find Peace in Self You and I are the

same.

What I have done is surely possible for all.

You are the Self now and can never be anything else.

Throw your worries to the wind, turn within and find Peace.

Realise the GOD through Your Mind

The Divine gives light to the mind and shines within it. Except by turning the mind inward and fixing it in the Divine, there is no other way to know Him through the mind.

The Grace of the Guru liberates

Liberation is not anywhere outside you. It is only within. If a man is anxious for deliverance, the internal Guru (Master) pulls him in and the external Guru pushes him into the Self. This is the grace of the Guru.

Turn your Mind to Self Can Solve Many

problems Turn the mind inward and cease thinking of yourself as the body; thereby you will come to know that the self is ever happy. Neither grief nor misery is experienced in this state.

Books alone cannot Make you realize ….

The self cannot be found in books. You have to find it for yourself, within yourself.

Page 19: Sri Ramana Maharishi, Man Divine

The Divinity has no Duality

You can never find mind through the mind. Go beyond it, and find it non-existent.

The self is pure knowledge, pure delight where there is no duality.

We are Reaping our own Actions

Pain or pleasure is the result of past Karma and not of the present Karma. Pain and pleasure alternate with each other. One must suffer or enjoy them patiently without being carried away by them. One must always try to hold on to the Self. When one is active one should not care for the results and must not be swayed by the pain or pleasure met with occasionally. He who is indifferent to pain or pleasure can alone be happy.

What is I The normal self is

the mind. The mind is with limitations. But pure Consciousness is beyond limitations, and is reached by investigation into

the I

Happiness is your NatureLearn to be Happy

That which is called happiness is only the nature of Self; Self is not other than perfect happiness. That which is called happiness alone exists. Knowing that fact and abiding in the state of Self, enjoy bliss eternally

One Day you have to Surrender Everything

Whatever path you go, you will have to lose yourself in the one. Surrender is complete only when you reach the stage `Thou art all' and `Thy will be done

Do the Action without Desire

Whatever is done lovingly, with righteous purity and with peace of mind, is a good action. Everything which is done with the stain of desire and with agitation filling the mind is classified as a bad action.
