What is Accountability?Question No. 1

Page 3: The Age of accountability

Accountability implies that any individual’s actions will be measured by

some standard which correctly labels those actions right or wrong.

The argument about accountability is not that there should be a standard to measure

what is acceptable...it is about where we find that standard and how we enforce it.

A Working Definition

Page 4: The Age of accountability

Accountability is what the citizens of our country assumes will encourage our leaders

to rule well.

The government was founded upon the idea of representation. The elected officials are to be the voice of the people, for the people, by

the people because they come from the people and can be removed by the people.

An Example

Page 5: The Age of accountability

Why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to

God.

handicapped) or those who haven’t yet grow into the knowledge to comprehend them

(i.e. children) would not be held accountable according to the same standards everyone
