Faith for Signs & Wonders Salvation's benefits come only to those with

faith. Jesus could do no miracles in His hometown

due to their lack of faith (Mark 6:5-6) How do we get faith?

By seeing miracles in others By understanding what Jesus came to do By understanding who we are in Christ

Greek For Salvation

In NT, “save,” “saved,” and “salvation” have their root in the Greek #4982 “sozo” which means to save, to rescue, to deliver, to protect. “Sozo” is also translated in the New Testament with the words to heal, preserve, save, do well, and to make whole. The Greek #4991 “soteria” (which has it’s origin in “sozo”) is the main word translated “salvation.” “Soteria” is also translated to deliver, health, salvation, save and saving.

Wholistic Salvation Rom 1:16:“For I am not ashamed of the gospel

of Christ; for it is the power of God of salvation (“soteria”) to everyone that believes.”

In Acts 16:30, the Philippian jailer asked, “...Sirs, what must I do to be saved (sozo)? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved (sozo), and your house.”

Wholistic Salvation

When the woman with the issue of blood was healed, Jesus turned to her and said in Mark 5:34, “...Daughter, your faith hath made you whole (sozo); go in peace and be healed of your affliction.” Her healing or physical wholeness is part of the salvation that God provides through Jesus Christ.

Holistic Salvation

When Blind Bartimaeus was healed, in Mark 10:52 Jesus said to him, “...Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole (sozo). And immediately he received his sight...” The same faith that we use to procure forgiveness for our sins can be used to heal our body.

Holistic Salvation

The crippled man was healed in Acts 14:9,10 when Paul, “...perceiving that he had faith to be healed (sozo), said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” The same faith (and word) that brings salvation can also bring healing to our physical bodies.

Holistic Salvation

James 5:15 says, “And the prayer of faith shall save (sozo) the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Salvation is for the whole man. Spirit, Soul, and Body

The Mission of Jesus To seek and save sinners To bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth To glorify the Father and allow people to be

adopted by the Father as His children To be the Messiah of Israel

Jesus Defines His Mission To John the Baptist's question in Matt 11:4-5,

“Are you the one? “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those

who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.”

To the 12 & 72: “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. (Matt. 10:7-8)

Church Continues His Mission Peter and Paul heal the sick, cast out demons

and raise the dead. Deacons Phillip & Stephen and Ananias of

Damascus all heal the sick. St. Augustine first claimed that the miracles of

Jesus had ceased by 390 AD. By 427, he changed his mind after 70 miracles happened in his diocese. (Retractions)

Miracles and all the spiritual gifts have never ceased in the global Church history.

The Medium is the Message Miracles prove the message and miracles are

part of the message Jesus came to preach the Kingdom of God The Kingdom of God is wherever God is

honored and served in Jesus Name. When the Kingdom comes, His power comes

Luke 11:20: “But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.”

Centrality of Signs & Wonders Jesus and Apostles would never just preach

words to get people saved. Miracles are the Kingdom in action. Every Christian has access to that power To fulfill our prayer, “Let Your Kingdom come on

earth as it is in heaven...” we must do our part 2 Tim 3:5: “..holding to a form of godliness, although

they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.”
