DESCRIPTION

This is one of a series of short videos Shomerei Hamashal is releasing to give you some idea of what we teach. We encourage you to contact us at www.hamashal.org and we’ll try to answer your questions and provide you with the important information on how proper interpretation of the 1st 6 books of the bible leads to a correct understanding about human destiny. In another video we said that a comprehensive interpretation of the books of Moses and Joshua – that’s Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and Joshua – is essential before interpreting anything else in the bible. In this video we’ll show you an example of why that is so important. We’ll discover that human destiny is to be clothed in a light garment. This destiny was fixed in the garden of Eden and the process towards the destiny begins in an unexpected way. In this video we’ll use an interlinear translation from Hebrew to English. I recommend you view the video on interlinear translation and interpretation of the bible before you view this one. In our video on the proper method for interpretation of the bible we made this statement. In this presentation we will see how important this principle is. First, I want to present to you a popular ideology about Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden. It’s like the example we used in the interpretation of the bible video about the automobile tires. If you didn’t know anything about the rest of the car you could say that it seems like the purpose of the tires is to lift the car off the ground. This is like humans trying to tell God’s story. A comprehensive interpretation lets God tell His story the way He intended it to be told. In Genesis chapter 2 it says Yahweh Elohim make Adam and out of him comes his woman. In Genesis chapter 3 the woman eats from a tree’s fruit and gives to her husband Adam and he eats too. They were told that if they ate from the tree they would die. They are given ‘tunics’ that some have interpreted as animal hides to cover themselves. Since the kind of animal is never stated, we could imagine almost any kind of animal might have been used. This is said to explain why Adam and his woman’s sentence of death is delayed. Adam and his woman deserved death but instead the animal’s death was a substitute for their death. Many years later the sons of Israel make and Moses sets up a tabernacle under the direction of Moses at the base of Mount Sinai. They make animal offerings where they place their hand on the head of the animal and it is slaughtered near an altar. The ideology says that the animal is slaughtered instead of the human offering the animal. Like Adam and his woman, humans deserve to die because of their sins. The animal dies instead and his blood is necessarily poured out at the death of his body. Continue reading at http://www.hamashal.org/the-light-garment/
