We noticed on trips to remote locations that the last thing you want to worry about is the functionality of your equipment. The idea for EVOC was born when we started designing and manufacturing bags for

our own needs – reliable, sophisticated products of the highest quality with sensible features. It was not long before more and more friends and riders we met started asking us for our gear. So we founded EVOC as a company.

EVOC LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTORS combine maximum impact protection with featherweight construction and great flexibility – and they are susceptible to temperature changes.

EVOC LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTORS have been tested and certified according to CE standard EN 1621-2, level 1.

During the test, the impact force of 25kN (a 5 kg test weight falling from a height of 1 m)has to be dampened to an average residual force of 18 kN. With a residual force value of 9,75 kN, EVOC LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTORS reach a damping effect that is almost twice as high as required!A typical impact-absorption curve of a crash is relatively peaked. This means that the residual force is transferred to the body very directly. The segmented layer design of the LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTOR provides ideal damping properties: The impact force is distributed over a larger area and so the shock is transmitted to the body less directly.

The damping materials employed for EVOC LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTORS are also not susceptible to extreme temperatures – they offer perfect protection at +30°C or at -20°C!

Materials and protective function have been CE tested and certified according to EU standard 89/686/EWG for personal protective gear (PSA), category 2.

MATERIALS

The demands for the perfect outer material of a backpack can be summed up in four characteristics: durable, abrasion resistant, water repellent and very light. This is exactly what our Nylon 210/D Ripstop offers. A double PU-coating of the lightweight nylon base provides moisture protection and wear resistance. A micro texture of filaments segments the basic fabric into tiny squares to prevent rips – hence the name Ripstop.

We employ YKK-zippers in our products to provide the highest level of quality. YKK products conform to the Öko Tex Standard 100 for product class 1. The functional advantages of YKK zippers besides the easy slider movements are their outstanding slider lock strength (= perpendicular force to the slider body) and the overall strength of the slider tab pull off (90 degree force on pull tab).

For the highest level of quality assurance YKK buckles are the perfect match. YKK products conform to the Öko Tex Standard 100 for product class 1. The “Vertical En-gagement System” enables a soft release of the buckles and the newly patented “V” shape allows the plug to be inserted smoothly. The flexible structure of the buckles also offers high breakage prevention against twisting.

QUALITY MADE – ENGINEERED IN GERMANY

All EVOC products are engineered in Germany to ensure the highest standards of performance, durability and quality.

Materials:The materials used to manufacture our products are also exclusively selected by us: We concentrate on polyamide (“Nylon”) for all of our bags and backpacks because it is the lightest, most durable and abrasion-resistant type of material available. We adapt the thread size and the coating of every fabric according to each product’s specific requirements. To gain a maximum waterproofing we use PU-coatings – also a very wear-resistant and robust material that is not susceptible to temperature changes.

Experience and feedback:Our staff of former professional athletes and ambitious riders with strong roots in biking and snow sports, has long-standing experience in manufacturing sports equipment and constantly use our equipment on bike tracks, roads and slopes around the world. Every season our products are also tested by world-class athletes who take our stuff to the limit each and every day. The constant testing and resulting feedback ensures that every feature of any EVOC product has been refined to perfection until you hold it in your hands.

MATERIALS

This is a polyamide fabric with an outstanding abrasion resistance and a high degree of durability. Cut polyamide fibres are spun and woven again which increases the material’s structural stability. Perfect for heavy-duty bags and the bottom areas of bags and backpacks.

Air Mesh is equipped with fine pores for excellent air circulation and doesn’t absorb moisture. This makes it it perfectly suited as a ventilating cover fabric for the back parts of our protector backpacks.

A newly developed flexible breathable and washable 3D textile with high impact- protection properties offering a performance range of -20°C to +40°C.

Well known from watersports, neoprene also has ideal properties for high-end backpacks. Very strong and at the same time flexible over a wide temperature range, it works outstandingly for our hip belts. The material additionally offers great insulating and shock absorbing qualities.

Tarpaulin, a strong, flexible and waterproof material is normally made of polyester coated with PVC, however, EVOC uses a woven polyamide fabric coated with EPO® on both sides which results in an advanced material with environmental properties: free of PVC, extremely durable, very light, waterproof and insensitive to temperature changes.

Hypalon is a chlorine-sulfate polyethylene, a non-aging, temperature-resistant and highly tear-proof material. We use it for the areas of our products exposed to high wear like edges and fixations of straps or belt webbings.

For riding cross country, marathon or roadbike, the demand for performance and comfort of the backpack is growing. In particular the aeration of the backpart is an important factor.To improve the ventilation of the back and carry system we developed the EVOC AIR CIRCULATION SYSTEM for our CROSS COUNTRY BACKPACK series (CC):

VENTILATED SHOULDER STRAPSSmart ventilation orifices in the shoulder straps ensure additional airflow in the collar area.

VENTILATION CHANNELSThe back section is provided with large air-ventilation ducts. Thereby the contact surface is reduced and accumulated heat can escape to the top and bottom as well as to the sides.

MICRO VENTILATED BACK PADSThe micro-ventilated shock pads of the back section offer perfect air circula-tion and heat dissipation directly on the contact areas.

EVOC PROTECTIVE WEAR offers a very light and comfortable protector vest line to prevent spine- (EN 1621-2), coccyx- (EN 1621-1) and neck injuries through impact. The revolutionary soft protectors with LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTOR TECHNOLOGY are integrated in vests of functional fabrics and provide maximum protection and comfort. EVOC PROTECTOR VESTS combine all the advantages of functional clothing like moisture transportion and breathability with a mature back protection system.

Available in 3 (4) sizes: S, M, L , (XL).

A T-shaped EVA-padding connects the LITESHIELD BACK PROTECTOR with the COCCYX PAD and extends the available area of impact deflection over the lumbar spine. Aside from a maximized area of homogeneous shock distribution, the part of the back protector that lies against the spine is flat to provide higher wearing comfort.
