Millbrook (5-2) – Convincing win over Liberty wraps up a 2-1 league season for Millbrook. Now the Blazers have to wait to see what happens between Sullivan West and Liberty, and whether Section Nine, Class C goes to a three-way tiebreaker, If it does, Millbrook should still have an inside edge.

Newburgh (5-2) – 72 points two weeks, 68 more in a victory over Kingston on Friday night. Hope they saved some for this weekend because the Goldbacks still aren’t in the playoffs. They need a win over Middletown this weekend to sew up the No. 2 seed in Section Nine, Class AA, Division 1.

Lourdes (6-1) – Lourdes was in the driver’s seat for the Section One, Class B title before giving up two scores in the final nine minutes in a loss to Ardsley two weeks ago. Now, after Saturday’s win over Westlake and the convoluted Section One scoring system, OLL gets Ardsley again in the first round of the playoffs.

FDR (5-2) – Can’t put yourself in a 21-0 hole like the Presidents did Friday in an eventual loss to Middletown. Fortunately it wasn’t a league game. But this weekend’s trip to Minisink Valley IS, and FDR needs a victory to clinch a playoff berth.

Highland (6-1) – This could have been a trap game for the Huskies coming off their first loss of the season, but Highland ripped O’Neill. Now they get the chance they’ve been waiting for all season – at Marlboro on Friday night for the Section Nine, Class B, Division 1 regular season title.

Wallkill (6-1) – Seems like this happens every year, doesn’t it? The Panthers will get their annual showdown with Cornwall on Friday for the Section Nine, Class A, Division 1 title, and will likely meet again in the postseason. This is one of the area’s great all-time rivalries and not to be missed.

Arlington (6-1) – Still the hottest team in the area with six consecutive victories. The Admirals earned the No. 2 seed coming out of Section One, Class AA, League 1, but even though they get a home game to start the playoffs it’s a tough one – North Rockland.

John Jay (6-1) – They are healthy, they are rested and they are firing on all pistons right now. The Patriots still have to be considered one of the two favorites for getting to the sectional title game against New Rochelle. First things first – Greeley is on deck for Jay.
