Hello, my name is Ksenia. I am 12 years old. I live in Moscow. I want to tell you about my favorite sport - about biathlon. This sport is very popular among children and adults in our country. My favorite sportsman is Olga Zaitseva. She has achieved high results!

Olga came to biathlon largely by accident. She did ski but the coach asked her to take part in biathlon competitions. The young athlete learnt the basics of shooting and in a couple of weeks she won the first prize in Krasnogorsk, and then at the Russian Winter Olympics in Perm.

In 1994, Olga was completely attracted by biathlon. In 1999, Olga Zaitseva joined the national team.

A star of sport life

Sports achievements 2000 -the master of sports of international class, 2001 - silver medal at the European Championships 2002 -Olympics, where she took part in the

individual race. 2003-the fourth in the World Cup

Two-time Olympic gold medalist in the relay (2006, 2010).

Silver in the mass start at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Three-time champion of the world: in the relay (2005, 2009) and the mass start (2009).

Also among its assets 2 silver medals and three bronze World Championships.

The best result overall in the World Cup - 4th place in 2005.

Has won 13 World Cup events in various races.
