• Julia Zaripova-Russian athlete, middle distance runner. Specializes in the running for 3000 meters steeplechase. Her name does not descend from pages of the sports press because she confidently wins main international events of the female steeplechase of the last years. She was born on 24 April 1986 in the Volgograd region, in the village of Svetly Yar, in the most ordinary Russian family.

 Julia won the first European medals in Russian team championship on cross country Championships, a silver in

the individual championship, bronze in the team. Soon athlete passed the hurdle, where she currently has no equal.

 The main achievements of Yulia Zaripova were the title of world champion in 2011 in South Korea's Daegu, champion of Europe in 2010 (Bergen, Norway). Twice in 2009 and 2011, she became champion of Russia.In 2011 Yulia won gold in the competition for the run with obstacles, held in the framework of the world Championship (2011 World Championships in Athletics).

 2012 Zaripova started with a brilliant victory held in Volgograd race at 10,000 meters. Her main achievement in 2012, however, was the

performance at the Olympic games. Zaripova coped with a 3000-meter distance for 9.06.72, beating her own record and receiving a

gold medal.

On August 7, 2012 in the running for 3000 m in London - Gold. Her victory was devoted to her parents, a daughter and a coach.

  According to the results of Internet voting Yulia Zaripov was recognized as the best Russian female athlete at the Olympic

Games in London. An outstanding athlete was awarded the Order of Friendship. This high award Yulia Zaripova got for her great personal

contribution to the development of sports for the great performance to XXX Olympic Games in London.
