Tim explains about the religious backgrounds of Redding

Tim meets Sam in Tom Warrup’s teepee

Tim is asked the question, “which side are you on?”

Chapter 3

Tim and family lives well

Father makes people who insult the British army to leave his tavern

Chapter 3...

Betsy spies for Tim and asks him, “Will you tell your parents that Sam is back?”

Betsy tells Tim that Sam is back

chapter 4

Tim tries to make excuses to go see Sam

Tim sees that the family is in trouble

Chapter 4...

Tim tries to steal the gun from Sam

Tim threatens Sam that he will shoot him

Father yells for Sam to come back

Chapter 5...

Mr. Heron asks Tim to run an errand

Father disagrees

Tim plans to sneak off

Tim gets a chance to deliver the letter

Meets Betsy on the way to delivering the letter

Betsy uses force to take the letter away and reads it

Chapter 7

Father has to go one his annual trip

Father decides to take Tim

On the way they meet six cowboys

Tim and Father almost get everything stolen

Loyalist Horseman come and save Tim and Father

The horseman escort Tim and Father to their cousin’s house

Tim and Father each discuss with Mr. Platts and Ezekiel

They leave early the next morning

Tim is amazed by the beauty of the Hudson River

The trade went well and snow became to fall

They were escorted to their cousin’s house

The two leave early next morning

Father rides ahead and then comes back to check on safety while Tim rides behind with the goods

chapter 9...

Tim is worried because Father does not return

Tim knows that Father was caught by cowboys and wonders what to do

On the way home he meets cowboys and tricks them

Tim arrives home with the goods

chapter 10

Without Tim and Father, Mother over works

When Tim comes back everything turns back to normal

chapter 10...

One day the British soldiers come

One rebel messenger was shot and needs help

Tim is on the job and runs to get Dr. Hobart

He vomits after seeing Ned’s head flying through the air

chapter 11

Dr. Hobart cures the rebel messenger

Then some soldiers come in and ask for rum and food

chapter 11...

Then Tim hears that Sam is back

Tim and Mother go find Sam

Mother tries to persuade Sam to come back

chapter 12

Tim and Mother find out that Mr. Meeker is dead

Sam returns

chapter 12...

Sam said that he will come back as often as he can

Sam also advises Tim to cut up the cattle and freeze them in order to prevent cattle thieves

Sam is caught as a cattlethief

chapter 13

Tim goes to the Colonel Parsons to prove Sam is innocent

Tim comes back with no progress

The next day Mother goes to talk to the Colonel Parsons

Sam is sentenced to death by getting shot

Tim gets to meet Sam and the two talk

chapter 14

Tim takes the gun and goes to the encampment

Tim gets shot and he throws the gun in to where he thought sam was

However, Tim soon learns that Sam is not there

chapter 14...

Tim attends the execution

Sam is brought in and shot

Sam is on fire and jerking and then is dead when the soldier shoots Sam once more
