Efficient running is genetically coded into our bodies, which includes using gravity assisted falling to propel us forward, so that we land on our mid foot. Today’s modern running machines and over-cushioned running shoes however, have negatively affected our natural movements, changing our form, landing pattern, and overall technique. The result has been that up to 80% of all runners suffer running- related injuries each year. Sproing was created to help runners run better, more naturally and with less injury by promoting natural movement. Combined with our soft surface this reduces impact by up to 50%! As in real running, Sproing’s surface does not move. Our unique, spring system holds you from behind so you can “fall” naturally into your next step without falling completely causing you to land on your forefoot rather than your heel. This replicates, better than any other machine, the correct landing. Sproing’s, soft, cushion surfaces are among its most unique features. As in real running, the surfaces have ‘give” creating a controlled instability which activate more muscles than a hard, flat surface. Users can select how firm or soft a surface they want, by choosing Sproing: The Natural Way to Enjoy Running Again

Sproing returns us to our natural running formLong before the invention of treadmills and the rise of cushioned running shoes, humans ran without any special gear or machines. Efficient running is genetically coded into our bodies, which includes using gravity assisted falling to propel us forward, so that we land on our mid foot. Today’s modern running machines and over-cushioned running

shoes however, have negatively affected our natural movements, changing our form, landing pattern, and overall technique. The result has been that up to 80% of all runners suffer running-related injuries each year.

Sproing was created to help runners run better, more naturally and with less injury by promoting natural movement. Combined with our soft surface this reduces impact by up to 50%! As in real running, Sproing’s surface does not move. Our unique, spring system

holds you from behind so you can “fall” naturally into your next step without falling completely causing you to land on your forefoot rather than your heel. This replicates, better than any other machine, the correct landing.

Sproing’s, soft, cushion surfaces are among its most unique features. As in real running, the surfaces have ‘give” creating a controlled instability which activate more muscles than a hard, flat surface. Users can select how firm or soft a surface they want, by choosing

between the air surface or the beach surface, which mimics the feeling of running on sand.

How we started

As fitness industry veterans, we attended more than our share of fitness shows over the last twenty years and saw and tried almost every product on the market. We were continually struck by the fact that there were only five pieces of cardio equipment (treadmill, bike, stepper, rower and elliptical). While changes were made to these pieces year after year, the changes were small and incremental. Furthermore as aging athletes ourselves we couldn’t take the pounding from running on hard treadmill decks anymore (and we weren’t even that old).

We felt strongly that there had to be a better way to run—a way to fill the huge gap between the low impact elliptical and high calorie burn of the treadmill. We loved running on the beach as it allowed us to run naturally and the soft sand absorbed the pounding impact. We began work in our garage to replicate that feel. Our first prototype was built out of wood, lawnmower tires and camping mattresses and from that we worked diligently to evolve the product to the highest commercial standards.

The result of our efforts is Sproing which we introduced to the public in Spring 2012. Today, Sproing can be

found in dozens of health clubs across the United States

and in seven foreign countr ies including Gold’s Gym, Bally Totally

Fitness, Lifet ime Fitness, Worlds

Gym, Virgin,

TCA . The foreign countries include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Germany and the UK. Two NFL teams are already using Sproing for conditioning and rehab. Sproing can also be found in dozens of physical therapy centers across the Midwest.

Sproing is a tool for Cardio, Training and Rehab

Sproing can be used as a cardio piece, a training platform for running-based training or in small group training sessions. The addition of four strength pods allows you to do resistance based strength work without leaving the Sproing. Just grab hold of the handles on the rear or lower pods and you can push or pull in every plane of motion with resistance. And, thanks to Sproing , you can move easily and quickly between cardio, strength, balance and power movements, making Sproing an ideal interval trainer. Sproing provides a more intense workout in less time, without the impact conventional treadmills, reducing forces on the foot, ankle, knee, hip, or lower back.

Some questions we hear often: Can I reduce my time in the gymwhile increasing my cardio efficiency? Absolutely

CanIdoplyometrictraining? Yes

Can I run backwardsor do s ide runningmovements? Yes

Can I do lunges on the soft surface toincreasestrength, flexibility, andbalance? Of course

I don’t have the space for a Sproing.Sproing is treadmill sized so it fits into a cardio line, small studio or rehab center easily. It also has wheels making it easy to move.

Ican’t runanymore, will Ibeable to runagain? We have many examples of people who long ago stopped running due to wear and tear, current injuries, or simply age who can run again on Sproing.
