BELT WRESTLING
Belt Wrestling Alysh has been developed in two main directions that are professional sports and amateurs sports (or sports for all).
Professional sports, now is developed together with FILA, since June, 2008, when IFWBA joined FILA as one of its Committees and is called World Belt Wrestling Committee Alysh (WBWCA). Certainly, World and Continental championships, International tournaments, World Cups, anti-doping requirements etc. are inseparable part of national wrestling in professional sports.

Nevertheless, professional athletes are like a drop in the ocean among numerous amateurs in belt wrestling. Since national wrestling traditionally were and are practiced in the villages, during various festivals, f. e. harvest-home usually started from the fight of wrestlers that were awarded by a horse, ram or a special winner-belt (no medals).
