WHAT SPORT IS AND COACH

Hello, I would like to tell you about my coach Irina Akmeeva. And I also want to tell about new and interesting sport -cheerleading.

• Ira was born in Kashira and she lives here. She began to go in for gymnastics at the age of 6. In the 10th from she started to train children in parallel to the trainings. At that time had learned that in neighbor town Stupino the admission to hip-hop team began. And she immediately decided to try it. On the 1th course of the university Irina was invited to the cheerleading team ”Assol”.She needed her skills in gymnastics and dancing here.

WHAT IS A CHEERLEADING?

Cheerleading is an intense physical activity based upon organized routines, usually ranging anywhere from one to three minutes, which contains many components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers and stunting in order to direct spectators of events to cheer for sports teams at games or to participate in cheerleading competitions.

In Russia there is a relatively recent cheerleading. The first cheerleading team in Russia was established in 1996 at the Children's League of American Football (DLAF). Soon the interest of the girls to the original sport has grown so much that in January 1998 there was an autonomous non-profit organization "Leisure Club "Assol "," DLAF established, whose main task was the development of the program of support for sports teams. In August 1999, on the initiative of the club “Assol" was registered ROO "Cheerleaders Federation - support group sports teams“.

Irina was the twice-repeated Champion of Moscow and the twice Champion of Russia in the “Assol” team. She is considering that the most important thing is the European Championship in 2010 and the future Championship in Thailand.

Ira didn’t become our coach at once. But with her coming our team became much more solidary and friendlier. We have learnt to do a lot of interesting elements. We are being invited more often to different sporting events in Kashira. We had also performed in Fryazino and Stupino.

In spite of her studying, trainings and working, Irina has time to do everything. It is an excellent example. And seeing this example, I would like to achieve a success and go to my wins!
