~Use Glue & Wooden mallet to join the dowels~ Thursday 12/05/11

Put glue inside of hole

Today I used glue and wooden mallet to

put forth 18 dowels. I had 20 dowels so 2

dowels were left. I put glue inside of holes

and I put a dowel inside of hole. After this I

just hit the dowel with wooden hammer. I

finished put forth 18 dowels for pig’s face. I

had four balls for each color, which is blue,

light green, red and yellow. I just put whole

balls, and I felt it’s too many balls. So I tool

one ball for each color. So there are 3 balls

for each color. The next thing is that most

difficult part (I took video during this difficult

part, you can see how is difficult in the

video), which is I need to put pig’s back

together. So I put glue inside of pig’s back’s

holes. And I got wet cloth for wipe glue. First,

Mr. Anderson was helping me to stick pig’s

back. But he said we need person to help us.

So Michel helped me to do this. But still

can’t stick together. This is because some

dowels are short then others and some

dowels are taller than others. It was so hard.

I haven’t stick my pig’s back yet. Mr.

Anderson said ‘ we are going to fix next

class.’ I need to shave dowels. Like use

sharpener to shave dowels. I am not sure

about more detail. So NEXT class I need to

ask what am I doing for dowels. (More detail

about shaves dowels) I don’t know if it’s

take long time, but if I finished shave

dowels before end of class, I will stick

together, and maybe I will use clay for hide the pig’s back’s holes,

and I need to paint again.

Emotion-I felt hopeless when Mr. Anderson was helping me to stick

together. Even Mr. Anderson can’t fix it. So I was

kind of worried that if I can make this toy.

AOI- Community and Service

Today for my project, my friend helped me with

stick pig’s back and dowels together. Michel

helped me with check the position of dowels. (Are

the dowels right position?). Also Ding helped me

with how should I fix my toy. It was so helpful for

me.
