Solve problems involving sales tax and discount
• Discuss with a partner:– What would you buy with $1000 at Wal-Mart?
– Are there any things you need to consider besides the price on the item?

• FIRST METHOD: Price-discount– Discount=%off (original amount)– Total price=original – discount
• SECOND METHOD– 100%-(% off)– (Original) (new %)
We are gong to buy the vizeo 32” tv on tax free weekend. It is going to be
25% off. What will we pay for it?
• Both methods:
A snowboard has a regular price of $165. This week it is on sale at a 35%
discount. What is the sale price?
