It begins 4am the following day.I’m outside a restaurant with my friend

Sven Banana, some pie, and a funky t-shirt.



4am Day 1: Sleep Science

4am

24 hours earlier, I’m fast asleep,listening to positive motivationalmessages from Sleep Science.


5am

I’ve got my Nike+ FuelBandto keep track of all my physical activity

(and hoping there are no pointsdeducted for snoring)


6am: Lark

With my Lark wristband connectingvia bluetooth, it silently wakes meand coaches me for better sleep

habits. I can dream, right?

It’s time to work out, using FitFu.Accessing the accelerometer, it tracks

the repetitions of my crunches.

When it’s time to get dressed,I use Go Try It On to ask people

which shirt I should wear.


There’s a clear winner – outfit #1.And the comments are both

helpful and enthusiastic.


9amI need to run an errand before work, so I stop by

convenience store Duane Reade, paying with NFC (near field communication)

thanks to Google Wallet on the Galaxy Nexus.


10amI then get to work and prime creative

sparks with Draw Something.I think my picture’s okay, but I gotstumped by Sidra. What IS that?


11am11amAt 11, I take photos of things I love,

such as mini Sad Keanu, and add them to Pinterest


12pm I’m getting hungry by noon,so I go to sandwich shop Alidoro,

and check in on Foursquare

By 1, I need to digest, so I playLife is Crime, dealing drugs and

bumping off other players in TriBeCa

At 2, I’m doing some self-improvement, studying Spanish on

Brainscape’s mobile app.


3pm

Taking a break, I turn to TaskRabbit,a useful site for finding people to do

odd jobs for you.


I post my task – delivering SprinklesCupcakes, and then scan my creditCard via the phone’s lens to make

a payment.


I get my cupcakes in a flash.MMMMM.


4pm

At 4, I hit up a brainstorm at workand Instagram the hell out of it.


5pm

At 5, I join a friend at Crosby St Hotel,the first Manhattan bar to accept TabbedOut,

an app that lets you pay your tabright from your phone.




6pm

It’s 6, and time to figure out dinner.I turn to Kraft’s iFood Assistant for

recipe ideas, the GroceryIQgrocery list app from coupons.com,and Checkpoints to get more deals.


I also pick up some wine.


7pm

Time to make dinner.I went with my own recipe:

Mac & Cheese & Philly Cream Cheese


8pm

Yum.


During dinner, I use Snooth’simage recognition technology to

identify my wine’s label and bringup reviews about the bottle.


I also use MealSnap, which lets youtake photos of what you eat and

it calculates the calories.It doesn’t always work.


9pm

As I relax and watch TV,I love stickers, so I useGetGlue to earn some.


10pmIt’s time to go out for the night, and

I use Fashism for feedback.I also go on to boost the ratings of

some of the app’s more unlikely users.


Apparently my ThinkGeek PersonalSoundtrack shirt with a working speaker

didn’t get the highest marks.Ninjacat was sweet though.


10pm: (figure out plans) Localmind, ChaCha – note Google Deals, ask about Pommes Frites

11pm

At 11, I explore options fora late-night snack. I repeatedlyask Localmind users for ideas,

but I don’t get any help.

12am

I head out, using the LevelUp appto find deals neaby. Through the app,

I pay using a QR code displayedon my phone.


I went for the organic black truffle mayo.

Yum.


1am

Sven Banana

At 1am, I use Highlight to see if anypeople I know are nearby.

Sven Banana, with whom I share a Facebook friend, is close.


2am

We use Yelp to find a place openfor dessert. Sadly, while Bubby’s is

great, it’s not good for bananas.

3am

He’s a good sport though,waiting outside while I order the pie.



4am

Here we are, back at the beginning.It’s 4am, and Sven and I are

happily enjoying our pie.
