The Alabama State Flag The Alabama state flag was
adopted in February 16,1895. It is called “crimson cross of St. Andrew’s”. It is a red cross on a white background. The red bars must be six inches wide and they form diagonal cross.This flag can be any size of rectangle or square. It was designed after the Confederate Battle Flag.

Alabama’s insects are the Monarch Butterfly and Tiger Swallowtail. They both sip nectar. They both take pollen from flowers.

In 1975, the largemouth bass was chosen as the state freshwater fish.
