The Consulting Approach

The diagram below describes the key steps to executing a successful Data Classification Assessment.

1. Site Survey

• Complete a Site Survey form. Objectives:

• Understand customer’s IT environment

• Identify data management requirements.

• Determine the number of servers required

• Define requirements for a successful deployment.

• Create project schedule for installation.

2. Standard Software Installation

• Onsite, deploy and configure the Arkivio Autoexplore solution. This process includes the following:

• Verify the server and environment configuration.

• Install Arkivio Autoexplore components and verify successful set-up.

3. Software Configuration

• After the installation is completed, ICT Business Consulting will:

• Enter the designated hosts for management to Arkivio GUI

• Identify shares to be managed in consultation with the customer. The consultant will confirm proper connectivity to these hosts/file systems, including required access.

• Create Customer defined Data and Storage Groups and policies.

• Initiate or schedule File Data Collection (FDC).

4. Review and Refine Implementation

• After completion of the FDC, the consultant will

• Review initial finding with the customer.

• Make any modification or additions to the Data and Storage Groups.

5. Create and Simulate Data Mgnt Policy

• Once the data and storage classes have been established, the consultant will:

• Create customer defined data management policies for the groups of data and storage.

• Simulate policies and share results with the customer to ensure actions are in in-line with expectation and goals.

6. Prepare Report & Deliver

The ICT Business Consulting consultant will prepare the

Data Classification Assessment Report

(Executive Summary) and all other deliverables for

review with client.
