DIFFERENT TYPES
Within filming there are a variety of different
camera movements, these could include
panning, tilting, tracking shot etc.
TRACKING SHOT
A Tracking Shot is where the camera is
moved away or towards the subject. a tracking
shot can go backwards, left to right and right
to left. Using a tracking shot brings the viewer
closer and helps to draw the audience in to the
scene creating relationships with the
characters.
PAN SHOT
A Pan Shot is when the camera moves form one
side to the other. the pan shot is usually used to give
movement to a scene that otherwise would be static.
TILT SHOT
A Tilt Shot is when camera moves up or down
from one fixed point. it is usually used to help show
perspective or help to reveal something to the
audience slowly.
DOLLY
This is a specific piece of equipment which is
designed to make camera movements look smooth.
The camera is fixed to the dolly and the camera
operator will usually ride on it to control and operate
it.
