Servers ?

• Definition : In information technology, a server is a computer program that provides services to other computer programs (and theirusers) in the same or other computers.

Servers ?

• Powerful computers• Always run a network• More powerful, more secure and

more reliable.

Example:

• Server

Server Side scripting :

Scripts that runs on the server machine.

Usually encrypted.

Provides high level of security.

Must be done as fast as possible.

Clients?

• Definition:

A client is the requesting program or user in a client/server relationship. For example, the user of a Web browser is effectively making client requests for pages from servers all over the Web.

Clients ?

Not powerful.

Can be used out side a network.

Can not operate on a network without servers.

Client side scripting :

Scripts that runs on the client machine.

No need to be encrypted.

Usually done by the browsers.
