Using this technique (Highlighting the info red) allows NME to catch reader attention and to encourage them to read below without having every bit of information on the page coloured red

Similar to Adele’s picture, it covers most of the page but instead of a studio photo, they are standing on top of a hill/mountain. It gives an insight into their personal life and where they came from and tells the reader they’re not your typical city boys.

Q magazine decide to colour the text golden and give it a different style font. While it isn’t necessarily eye catching or an attract your attention style text, you’re instantly drawn to it because it’s different and steers clear of trying to alert the reader.

NME deliberately use the colour yellow and for a purpose. The colour yellow helps a person to make decisions. It psychologically influences the person into making a decision. The reason this is significant is because NME colours word that are commands. ‘SUBSCRIBE TODAY AND SAVE’ ‘GO TO’ ‘OR CALL’. It helps the reader make a decision without them realising.

The page contains simple colours, nothing extravagant or too extreme although specific colours are used in specific parts of the page. The parts of the page NME want you to notice are Red (p45, NME). It distinguishes the important information from the less important.
