Google Travel Grants for Women
Google Code-in The tasks(for open-source company) are grouped into the following categories:
1. Code: Tasks related to writing or refactoring code
2. Documentation/Training: Tasks related to creating/editing documents and helping others learn more
3. Outreach/Research: Tasks related to community management, outreach/marketing, or studying problems and recommending solutions
4. Quality Assurance: Tasks related to testing and ensuring code is of high quality
5. User Interface: Tasks related to user experience research or user interface design and interaction
Students will receive a certificate for completing 1 task and can earn a t-shirt when they complete 3 tasks. 20 grand winners will receive a trip to Google's Mountain View.
Google Science Fair
For students, who formulate a hypothesis, perform an experiment, and present their results
General judging criteria:
1. Inspirational entry or idea
2. Capacity to make an impact
3. Passion for science or engineering
4. Excellence of method
5. Communication skills
The Grand Prize includes a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions, an incredible experience at the Virgin Galactic Spaceport and $50,000 in scholarship funding
Google Summer of CodeGoogle Summer of Code is a program designed to encourage
university student participation in open source software development.
General judging criteria 1. Golden rule : "Start as early as possible!". The earlier you start working on your proposal the higher is your
chance to get accepted.
2. Focus on quality : you should focus on a few number of applications.
3. Get involved in the project
4. Discuss your idea: this feedback is crucial to your application.
5. Write your proposal: idea itself,benefits for the project, technical details.
Google awards stipends ($5500) to all students who successfully complete a requested free and open-source software coding project during the summer.
Example project
Google Code JamInternational programming competition professional and student programmers around the globe to solve difficult algorithmic puzzles in a fixed amount of time.
Competitors may use any programming language and development environment to obtain their solutions.

Google Cloud Developer ChallengeThis contest invited developers to build locally relevant web applications built on Google App Engine
that solve real world problems and “WOW” the world through the deft application of Google APIs like the Google+, YouTube and Maps APIs.
Categories:● Enterprise/Small Business Solutions, Education, Not for Profit● Social / Personal Productivity/Games / Fun
You can develop applications on the Google Cloud Platform using any of Python, Java, PHP and Go programming languages.

Google Winter and summer internshipsResponsibilities
● Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google's product offering.● Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data
compression, machine learning and search technologies.● Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data and information.● Solve all problems that come your way.
Minimum qualifications● Completing 1st year of undergraduate studies ● Be currently enrolled in a 4-year BA/BA Program, Majoring in Computer Science or a closely related
technical field.
Preferred qualifications● Some programming experience in either Java, Python, C or C++.
Google AmbassadorThe Google Student Ambassador Program is an opportunity for students to act
as liaisons between Google and their universities
These ambassadors:● Learn about innovative Google products and programs.● Plan and host fun events on campus.● Act as a campus contact for Google teams.● Help Google better understand each university’s culture.
Google Anita Borg Memorial ScholarshipA group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and scholarships
will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate's academic background, passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science, and demonstrated leadership.

Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients will each receive a € 7,000 award for the next academic year. All scholarship recipients will be invited to attend an annual Google networking retreat.
Google Travel Grants for WomenGoogle is pleased to offer Women in Tech Conference and Travel Grants for computer scientists.
To be eligible for a conference grant, the candidate must:● Be a woman working in or studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a technical field related
to the conference subject● Have a strong academic background● Demonstrate leadership in the workplace or in school● Attend the core day(s) of the main conference
These grants include:● Free registration● Up to 1000 EUR towards travel and accommodation costs (to be paid
after the conference)
