About Paradox

Established in 1998 as logistics consulting company.

Major consulting assignment with Ryder led to recognition of specific types of operational software not available in the marketplace.

Developed Continuous Move Planner (CMP) based on requirements of one of the large clients with the objective to match team runs to minimize empty miles, schedule time off for drivers, and to plan dispatch and delivery times to allow more loads to be included.

Suite of products include software tools for routing and scheduling, continuous move planning, discrete resource scheduling, and fulfillment planning solutions.

Customers include 3PLs, Supply Chain consulting service providers, shippers, and carriers.

Continue to enhance products, primarily from user feedback, with two major releases per year.

Besides supporting traditional perpetual licensing model, Paradox also offers software on subscription basis which carries no upfront license fees and annual maintenance or implementation costs.

With the subscription model, you simply download the tool and subscribe for the period of time you need it.

About CMP

CMP is a full-featured truckload matching and scheduling application based on Origin (Pickup) and Destination (Delivery) information considering DOT regulations and customer service requirements with the objective of minimizing empty miles and maximizing net revenue.

Typical applications include lane matching, operational continuous move planning and resource scheduling, and backhaul matching for outbound private fleet routes.

Optimizes empty miles, net revenue, pickup/delivery schedules, and number of vehicles and drivers to reduce fuel costs, capital costs and fleet expenses. Improves customer service with time-definite pickup and delivery schedules ensuring DOT compliance.

Accepts data input in ASCII flat file formats such as tab delimited, comma delimited, and fixed width or entered directly into the application.

Interfaces with Microsoft MapPoint and PC*MILER’s suite of products for accurate mapping, directions, distance and time calculations.

Offers many features that allow visibility to operational data for planning and operational improvement.

Facilitates “what if” analysis with a few mouse clicks including generation of trip manifests and maps, Gantt charts, and exports to your other applications.

 Available On-Demand from ParadoxSCI.com.

Solutions for Logistics Problems

Analyze historic lane data to identify continuous move opportunities to reduce empty miles and improve asset utilization.

Match lanes to identify empty movements to fill and further improve load factor.

Support for bidding and formulating strategic shipping agreements by analyzing prospect lanes with existing network.

Improve customer service with time-definite pickup and delivery schedules, prioritized delivery, and accurate driving instructions while ensuring DOT compliance.

Match backhauls to outbound routes with out-of-route constraint to combine vendor pickups with customer deliveries on the same route.

Match inter-facility movements into continuous moves to maximize fleet utilization.

Trip manifests , maps, driving directions, Gantt charts, summary and detailed reports, and exports to your other applications.

Periodic “fine tuning” of your current network by allowing import of changed data .

“The CMP software has had a dramatic

effect on the productivity involved in

engineering solutions for both our external

customers and internally. In the past it would

take us multiple days or weeks to analyze

the data to provide a solution, while with

CMP, it has been reduced to hours or days.

The CMP program has also allowed us to

test projects before we submit a bid.

Secondly, the IT support and response time

have been absolutely incredible. Never have

I been put on hold and if I leave a voice mail I

always get a very timely call back and then a

follow up call to make sure everything is

functioning properly. Lastly I would like to say

as an everyday user of CMP I could not have

asked for a more user friendly product."

National truckload carrier, founded in 1955, operating the industry’s largest

fleet of team driver tractors.

Servicing throughout North America with 1,500 tractors, 3,000 van trailers,

and over 2,000 team drivers for reliable and rapid coast-to-coast transit.

Evaluated several scenarios for a weekly set of truckloads.

Currently Operating:

 430 Truckloads

 No set Min. miles

 6,500 Max. miles

 50% Loaded miles

 0% Matches

After Optimizing:

 430 Truckloads

 4,000 Min. miles

 6,500 Max. miles

 98% Loaded miles

 40% Matches

Savings: 344,000 miles @ $1.71 = $588,240 (one-time)

Payback: Less than one week

Setup and Data Requirements

Nodes – location of domiciles (if applicable), origins and destinations of truckloads

Service requirements – pickup and delivery windows, service times, and DOT regulations

Transportation Rates – per mile, per gallon fuel, etc.

Matching constraints – load factor (% loaded distance), max. and min. distance for continuous moves

Operating constraints – time (max. drive, duty, layover etc.) restrictions, scheduling requirements for resources

Other Data – vehicle restrictions, domicile open/close times, etc.

Data Management:

CMP displays summary listing and details of all your load data including:

 Origin / Destination

 Appointment Windows

Other relevant attributes (e.g., yield, distance, etc.)

You can import any form of

ASCII data using CMP’s data

import wizard. Data can be

edited upon import.
