1. Setting the Subscription Rates
This section is for Administrators on the main MLL site
only
Log in to the main site Admin section
The aim of this section is to create a new subscription rate for a MLL site
Click “Orders and Site Subscriptions”
Then click “Site Subscription Options”
Now click “Insert Subscription Option”
Enter the type of site the option is for
… the full subscription rate
The amount entered is in GB pounds
… the rate & length of the trial period
… and whether there is a sales split
A sales split means that revenues on a Membership site are shared with MLL. By
default, the sales split is 50:50
Now click “Submit”…
Note: you can update sales splits later
To change a sales split later, go to the User
Website Subscriptions and click a subscriber’s details
here…
Here is the default split…
… which you can change to a new split
Now click Submit
The new subscription option is added
This is how it appears on the site
Use these links to change your details
If you click Delete, you’ll
first get a warning box
2. Signing up for a sub-domain site
This section is for anyone who wants
to take out a My Learning Log sub-
domain site
To sign up for a site, start by logging in
Go to either the Membership page
… or the Corporate page
Read through the details so
you know which site is best for you
Now go to the bottom of the page…
… select an option and click here
This will take you to this page
… where you can add your site’s name
Your subdomain name forms the first part of your
site url
… your site’s title
This title will appear at the top
of all your site pages
… and your contact details
Now click Submit Details
Note: this sets your site up. It doesn’t take
any payments from you.
Your details are confirmed…
… and a new link appears here
… showing your submitted details
The site is added in the Admin
… but suspended for the present
Now go to this page…
Check the details and click the T and C
Then click the Checkout link
This will take you to our PayPal site
Check the subscription details here…
… and decide how you want to pay
If you are using a credit/debit card…
… enter your card and
billing details
… contact info and security check
Alternatively, enter your PayPal details
… and click Login
This will take you here…
… where you should review your method for automatic
payments
Click here to change your method…
… and you’ll go to this page…
… where you can select a different
payment card
If all is OK, go back and click Agree
… and your purchase is complete
You can now see your PayPal account
… and verify the payment made
You can click here for the details…
… which will take you here
… where you can check all the details
and Cancel if you want
Now return to our PayPal page…
… and click here to return to MLL
Back on MLL, you can now click here…
… and update any of your information
… such as your site’s strapline
… which will be confirmed
You can also add your site logo here…
Make sure your images are first re-
sized to 50px x 50px
Select the logo from your computer
… and add it to your details
Your sign-up triggers 3 emails. First...
… confirmation to us that you
have taken out a new automatic payment profile
Second, to your PayPal email address
The first part of the email
confirms the details of your
automatic payment profile
… with details of the payment
The second part confirms the
details of your trial period and next payment
And, third, from us to your MLL email
On our email is a link to your new site
… a link to your new site’s admin
… and a link to your sub-domain page
You can now click the link to your site
… and your site’s admin login page
In the MLL Admin, your site is now live
… and the sign-up table is removed
Your new site is ready to be used!

The Differences:On Membership
Sites…
Your site allows users to subscribe
They do this by clicking on “Subscribe”
… and paying in the normal way
This subscribes them to every course
To add your subscription rate, go here
… and log in to your admin
… and then here
Fill in the details
Click Submit and add it to the table
You can also charge for your courses…
…by selecting the Paid option here
All of your sales appear here…
… and can be checked regularly and reconciled with an automatic
invoice every quarter
For full details on receiving payments, view the “Add and Sell Your Courses”
presentation
The Differences:On Corporate Sites…
1. There is limited access…
On Corporate sites, you
cannot view any page
without being a verified user
When a new user registers…
They are told they must be verified
You receive a New Site User email
This allows you to check here
An unverified user’s status is
initially “inactive”, as
here
You can then change the user’s status
… and make them active users
If you do, they then get this email…
… and have full site access
2. You can set courses to “self-assign”
… which will allow users to subscribe
… or “admin-assign”
… which requires admin enrolment
4. Customising your site
To customise your site, go to admin
The aim of this section is to update your site in the way you want
1. First, update your contact details
… by clicking Site Tree > Contact Us
On Behaviour, add your email address
This will ensure all
user messages
come to you
Now, your users can contact you…
They get confirmation of the message
The email comes to your inbox
… and an email goes to them
2. Now update your Home Page
… by clicking Site Tree > Home Page
… and change the text to suit you
This is how it looks on the site…
3. Next, update the About Us page
… by clicking Site Tree > About Us
… and change the text to suit you
This is how it looks on the site…
4. Update or add a new news item
… by clicking Site Tree > News > +
… and add your own news or blog
This is how it looks on the site…
5. Add metatags to your Home Page
… your About Us page
… your Contact Us page
… and all your course pages
6. Update your right-hand boxes
… on standard pages
… and course pages
7. Add testimonials about your site
… add to the list
… and show on your site
5. Cancelling your site subscription
This section will show you how to
cancel a sub-domain site subscription
First, log in to your PayPal account
2. Check your recurring payments
Click Profile > My Money
This will take you to this page
Now click “Update”
… to go to My Pre-approved Payments
Now click the active payment
This takes you to this page…
Now click “Cancel”
You’ll receive this warning box…
Clicking “Cancel” takes you here
3 emails are now activated…
The first notifies us
of the cancellation
The second goes to your PayPal email
And the third goes to your MLL email
If you cancel a Membership site…
… you will no longer be able to run it from the Admin
It will remain live for subscribers
… but further subscriptions
will be blocked
The site will be suspended…
… after all paid-for
subscriptions have been honoured
