About Poland
Poland has emerged as an important and dynamic market since the country began its transition to democracy and a market-driven economy in 1989. Country remains an attractive location for new investments, both in the production and services sectors (free access to the Common Market of approx. 500 million customers, a domestic market of approx. 40 million customers, labour costs still lower than in Western European countries, and highly skilled workforce While the rest of Europe struggled with the global financial crisis, Poland experienced GDP growth of over 20 percent from 2008-2013. Poland is once again the largest recipient of EU structural and cohesion funds, with €72.9 billion pledged from 2014-2020.

ICT market
Polish IT sector is one of the most vital and robust industries within the national economy, with good fundamentals and further growth prospects. According to the latest figures by research company DiS, the market value in 2013 has increased by 4% and reached €5.5 bln, which represents nearly 1.5% of Poland’s GDP. The analysis carried out on behalf of Kapsch BusinessCom called Polish IT sector the most dynamic in the region of CEE. The analysts forecast the IT market in Poland will grow at a CAGR of 5.59% over the period 2013-2018. EU programmes planned for the 2014-2020 period, while still undergoing development, will place more emphasis on innovation and modernization of information technologies than the previous perspective.
