INTRODUCTION : Information hiding technique is a new kind of

secret communication technology. Data Hiding is most essential for Network

Security issue. Audio data hiding method is one of the most

effective ways to protect your privacy.

WHY HIDE : Because I want to protect it form malicious

use. Copy Protection and deterrence(Watermark)

Because I don’t want any one to even know about its existence.

Covert Communication(Steganography)

WHY DATA HIDING IN AUDIO SIGNALS : Protection of multimedia content has recently

become an important issue because of the consumers' insufficient cognizance of the ownership of intellectual property.

Nowadays, several methods are used for communicating secret messages for defense purposes or in order to ensure the privacy of communication between two parties. So we go for hiding information in ways that prevent its detection.

WHERE WE CAN HIDE : MEDIAo Audioo Videoo Imageso Document

SOFTWAREEtc… We focus on Data Hiding on Media

EXISTING SYSTEM: Some of the methods used for privacy

communication are the use of invisible links, covert channels are some of existing systems that are used to convey the messages.

PROPOSED SYSTEM: This method is alternative to cryptography techniques which provide more security than existing techniques. Audio steganography technique is improving it scope of usage in many applications. In this project we use simple algorithm though which users can securely communicate with other users. This algorithm does not use any keys but it provides better performance by even dealing with high risks.

WHAT IS STEGANOGRAPHY ? Embedding secret message into digital sound

is called Audio Steganography. Hiding data in a digital media Steganography entails concealed data that is

inside data set. For example, a text message that is in an image or an audio file or video file can be referred to as stenography.

BASIC AUDIO STEGANOGRAPHIC MODEL :

HIDING TECHNIQUE :WHAT IS WATERMARKING ?

o Digital watermarking is used to hide the information inside a signal, which can not be easily extracted by the third party.

o Watermark can be detected and retrieved by a computer algorithm

WATERMARKING THEORY :

ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES :o Content preserving operations in the transmission channel should be tolerated to facilitate flexible applications.o Low computational complexity both at the transmitter and receiver side is important in real time media processing which can be possibleo Localized malicious modification can be easily detected for he protected digital datao Avoid ability of degradation and robustness for audio signalsoProtection of intellectual digital works

Page 15: Data Hiding in Audio Signals

DISADVANTAGES :o Digital information can easily be disseminated and copied via global networks. Due to this ease, challenges regarding digital information have created a need for more copyright laws. However, laws cannot be the only entity required to protect digital works.

oTerrorists can also use Audio data hiding to keep their communications secret and to coordinate attacks.

oThere is a narrow margin between hiding watermark information in ways which pass through perceptual encoders, and still cannot be perceived by listeners..
