The tropical rainforest is a natural vegetation. It provides the most luxuriant vegetation found on the earth. The trees in the rainforest have to adapt to the envriment. Trees can grow over 40 metres in the effort to get sunlight. In the forest there are four main layers, the emergent, canopy, under canopy, shrub layer.

The Amazon rainforest has developed a rich base of mineral resources. Iron is exported to countries for steel making. Vast areas have been cleared to gain access to these reserve.
