About us

e2c provide “Application Ready” embedded computing platforms solutions for application in a broad

range of markets, including: gaming, retail, vending and medical.

We combine in-house designed, embedded computing platforms, with powerful middleware, to

simplify the development of display centric machines and systems, including: gaming slots, self-

service kiosks, retail solutions and smart vending applications.

Our technology dramatically reduces development time and cost, allowing our customers to focus on

creativity and innovation in their core business applications.

• ePOINT Embedded Computing Limited (e2c) was formed in 2008 as spin out from

ePOINT Limited (formed in 1998 as a specialist retail kiosk provider).

• e2c is 100% owned by founder/CTO Dr Donny McDonald.

• HQ in Scotland UK, with production in Taipei, Taiwan.

• Core Expertise: Development of embedded industrial computing hardware and

software/middleware solutions based on ARM/RISC and PC/X86 architectures.

• Experience: Since 1998 we have worked with many customers, from start-ups to

blue-chips. We have designed and shipped more than $50M of product, including

more than 30,000 embedded computing platforms in gaming, retail and medical

markets.

• Our iSocket middleware has reliably processed several billion dollars of cash

transactions in gaming and retail solutions.

• We have spearheaded product innovation in several markets, including: gaming

iSocket supports all industry standard peripherals and manufacturers. It includes support for all common

e2c provide a broad range of platform building blocks for gaming machine manufacturers. Our objective is to provide

customers with maximum choice, flexibility and ease of integration. To achieve this we have developed a broad

range of platforms, including complete X86 gaming platforms, ARM/Linux based platforms, together with a powerful

middleware supporting all common peripherals. We also offer an extensive range of separate IO controllers (USB

and PCIe) which can be used with third party motherboards.

e2c provide retail tailored products combining our extensive peripheral support with high-performance computing

cores on both ARM and X86 architectures. The Smart Connect Range (SC) is based on ARM dual and Quad core

processors providing multi-display support at low power. The SC1000 range is based on open mini ITX standard so

supports all standard mITX motherboards and provides a full complement of GPIO and peripheral interfaces.

All products support full range of WAN/LAN connectivity options, including 3G, BLE, Zigbee etc. ARM based

products utilise embedded Linux. X86 products can utilse Linux or Windows embedded operating systems.

ODM Solutions

e2c specialise in semi-custom/ODM solutions. We design on our technology platforms to simplify the creation of

bespoke solutions for our customers. Over the years we have done many complex ODM developments for global

corporations and have a rich IP portfolio, spanning ARM and X86 architectures, as well as all standard connectivity

Vision

e2c continues to innovate on platform technology (Software and Hardware) for our focus markets. We have an
