The eCube

What is an eCube?The eCube is a product simulation device which fits over the thermostat

sensor on commercial refrigeration units.

The device contains a wax and food mixture which encases the sensor preventing fluctuating air temperatures from controlling the unit.

Instead, the eCube turns the refrigeration unit on and off as product temperature demands it.

Because air can no longer cause the unit to keep stopping and starting, the result is longer ‘on’ and ‘off’ cycles which leads to energy saving.

Once an eCube is fitted, longer on cycles create a lower product temperature which means the unit ‘set point’ can typically be raised by 2°C leading to further energy savings.

How it worksPrior to an eCube being fitted, a refrigeration unit is controlled by fluctuating air temperatures which cause regular and random on/off cycles.

After fitting an eCube, the on/off cycles become longer and more even which reduces starts by around 75%.
