How did you use new media technologies in the construction and

research, planning and evaluation stages?

Picture in Pictures allowed me to overlap two pieces of footage and make them play simultaneity. I made the footage on top transparent therefore easier to understand. The clip trimmer tool is the most basic editing tool there is to edit footage. It allowed me to change the duration of a clip to my taste.

The banner text allowed me to enter the name of the artist and track at the start of the video which is a familiar characteristic in a lot of music videos.

The video option allowed me to change the brightness, sharpness, saturation and contrast of a clip. This helped me overcome some camera quality issues.

The transition I used here was called ‘Doorway’ this sounded appealing because the lyric was ‘everyday I go in’. I wanted to illustrate going in through a door.

The clip option allowed me to reverse certain clips, speed up or slow down certain clips also.

Beat markers are enabled by pressing the ‘m’ key when editing the audio file in clip trimmer mode. This enabled the scene to change whenever I enable the beat marker.

From the audio options I could detach existing audio therefore having no sound interruptions. You can also fade in and out, which I did not need.

Transitions enabled me to move from one frame to the next with different effects.

Adding a still frame meant adding a still picture from the footage.

I made presentations on Microsoft PowerPoint which are easy to understand and quick to design.

I made a variety of different documents for research on Microsoft Word.

Flickr is the free service I used to upload images on to my blog. It made the images look more professional and higher quality.

I used an iPhone 4S to take my images for the Magazine Ad and CD cover because the quality is HD 8megapixel.

I used a sony digital video camera, which the school provided. It wasn’t the best of options but it enabled me to obtain a variety of different shots in my video. The tripod provided by school enabled me to keep the camera steady and make my video look professional.

I used iMovie to edit my music video. This enabled me to develop and understand a variety of different transitions and shot types. For example using a door way transition for the lyric ‘everyday I go in’

Twitter is a social networking site, I used it promote my music video and survey in order to obtain feedback.I used Vimeo to upload various extracts of my footage to my blog. Vimeo is an alternative to YouTube. It looks more professional, however I would say YouTube is easier to understand.
