Exploring FeedwaxSarah Hartley

March 2013

What's it for● Curate news, photos, video, tweets, data,

and links

● Add location data i.e geo-tags to RSS feeds

● Search via news aggregators

● Feed this information to your online space - we call them noticeboards

Create a destination public noticeboard

Use the noticeboard as a staging post

Getting started1. You will need a n0tice.com user account

2. Set up noticeboard to post the feeds to. These could be set up for the specific story you want to create and make it clear they are automated or simply be part of your standard user information.

3.Sign in at http://feedton0tice.com

Choose the feed - eg Twitter

Feed to N0tice

No loco? No problem● Assign all feed items to a location.

● Useful for events in one location eg. sports, conferences, gigs.

● Safeguard your project if users unfamiliar/uncomfortable with enabling location

TroubleshootingCan't log in? Check you're using the user name rather than the email address to log-in.

Feedtonotice logs in but doesn't display feeds. Make a fake feedwax entry ie. no data and it will take you to the list of feeds.

Make a feed but the feedton0tice starts the process again. At the point that Feedwax.com shows the url, copy it as a back-up and manually paste it into the feedtoN0tice box.
