You success in a group discussion depends on how well youplay the role of an initiator, informer, illustrator, leader,coordinator, and moderator. The ideal candidate will sharetime with others, listen, and react to their views.

Leadership’s skills

The success of any team depends, to a large extent, on itsleader. A group cannot carry on its assigned work effectivelywithout a leader. Though there is no appointed leader in agroup discussion for selection, a leader will emerge as thediscussion proceeds. The candidate who possesses bothfunctional ability and coordinating ability will emerge as theleader.

Functional ability involves knowledge, mental and physicalenergy, emotional stability, objectivity, communication skill,integrity, and emotional intelligence.
