Why
ReachLocal is a global company headquartered in Woodland Hills, CA that provides a suite of online advertising solutions to small to medium-sized businesses. Each month, ReachLocal hires 40–45 new salespeople across the United States and Canada, and con-ducts a training event for them in Dallas.
Using Grovo’s platform, ReachLocal created a training package covering the fundamentals of their training needs that they were able to administer to existing employees as well as new hires:
• Fundamentals of digital advertising• PPC with Google Adwords• Social media • SEO
Although many new hires have extensive backgrounds in tradi-tional advertising media such as television and print, they lack the fundamental knowledge of Internet advertising required when selling ReachLocal services to prospects.
A continuing challenge has been dealing with the learning gap between salespeople already intimately familiar with Internet ad-vertising and those who lack the baseline knowledge. ReachLocal training managers have also expressed concerns about whether participants in these in-person training events are able to absorb and retain all of the information presented.
