Definitions and concepts

Facilitating GIS a GIS which has been made available to

support a communication processes, with geographic functionality to view and analyse geographic data

(P)Participatory GIS a system in which the GIS support is no

longer apparent to the participating stakeholders, but through its use, has removed the expert-dependence of the general public and the influence of politically motivated decisions
