What is this? This is the GREATEST invention from Google

yet! And it is FREE!!! You must have a Gmail account to use this,

since it is much easier that way. This is a way to track ALL the activity on your

web 2.0 sites.

Once you are signed up, you will be provided acode that you must put on your web 2.0 sites.

Once you do this you will be able to seeeverything that happens.

Time on a page

Where they clicked

And More!

To get an idea of what you can see, here arethe stats from my Internet Predator Trackerwebsite for one day.

Now, this is just the overview of the stats, Ican click on each one and be able to dig downdeeper into each stat.

This allows me to even see WHERE on thepage someone CLICKED!!


Now that you have that installed, you willknow everything that goes on.

You can also do Split-Testing This is where you create another version of a

page, or section of your website, and Googlewill rotate those two or more versions andtrack what happens, so you can see whatyour visitors like better!

This is going to be the cornerstone of yourweb activity, since with Google Analytics, youcan track each and every web 2.0 site that wewill talk about tonight.

And trust me, even if you don’t do anythingwith it right now, you can just let it run so thatyou can keep track of the stats for a month orlonger and then go back and see what isgoing on when you can spare the time.



What are Keywords or Tags? Well, they are the same thing in fact. It really just depends on the website that you

are at as to which term the use. Basically, these are the words that you want

to be found for on the search engines. But, if you are very smart, you will focus on

words that people will type into the searchengines to find you.


What a second Joe, I want to learn aboutHubpages and those other two places!

Well, here is the thing, each of those sitesallow you to enter the Keywords/Tags foreach page you put up, article you write, orpictures you upload.

So, if you don’t do your research ahead oftime, you are going to miss the boat!


Wait, so I have to do this for every singlepage, article, picture. Etc????

NO WAY Hang on! You need to do this pretty much just once. Once you have developed the keyword/tag

list, you can use this over and over. But, you have to do the work right the first

time.


Keywords are the way search engines work. Keywords are: PI, Private Investigator, GPS,

etc FORGET GETTING THE TOP RANKINGS FOR

THOSE!! Besides those are worthless keywords,

people using those are browsing. You wantBUYERS.

One of the key concepts in InternetMarketing, is the idea that there are browsersand buyers on the internet.

One of the things that I finally understoodwas the fact that not everyone on theInternet was looking to buy things!

I had to finally understand that some peopleare just looking around.


Here I was wasting all this time on trying torank for such a general word, that I couldnever rank for!

I finally figured it out, NEVER go for a generalterm, always focus on Long Tail Keywords.

These are more like the real search terms thatpeople that want to hire you or buy from youwill type in.

This is the way to get more clients andmoney!


Long tail keywords is where everything is atnow, and what you need.

Consider the following list:

Now that you know the secret, you need tolearn how to do proper Keyword Research.

And of course, we have to find a way to dothis for FREE.

Let me walk you through a general way toresearch keywords for a Private Investigationcompany.


This is the BEST way to research keywordssince it is FREE!

By using this tool, you can enter your generalwords to research for better keywords, or youcan enter your long-tail keywords for betterresearch

So, you need to answer the followingquestion:

What do you want people to find you for?

Services you provide?

Your name?

Your company name?

General Private Investigations?

Other things?


Now, you have the general terms, but weneed to tighten these up.

So answer this question What State/County are you in? What is the major city near you? Now you have: General Term + State General Term + County General Term + Major City


You will put each of these into the GoogleKeyword research page.

I will give you a list of those words to researchfor a fictitious PI company in DC.

Remember, this is an example for you tounderstand what your keywords should looklike.

Getting the idea? But again, you just need to do this once. Put all the results into an Excel spreadsheet. Now, one last thing Take all of these list of keywords, and make

another copy where there are commasbetween each one.

Some sites want the keywords commaseparated, others do not.


This will allow you to quickly “tag” an article,page, or picture.

All you have to do is copy a set of keywordsfrom your list and then paste them to the siteyou are working on.

Now, this was pretty much a basic review ofkeyword research.

You can tell from this overview that this canget very, very detailed.

Trust me, you will learn more as you do this.


You have a choice with ALL of these sites. You will be registering your websites with a

Gmail account so you can keep track ofeverything.

However, if you want to really TURBO chargeall of these sites, you will not create just onehubpage, but maybe 10, 30, 50, or 100 ofthem.

In order to do this, you need a NEW email foreach hubpage account you setup.


Here is your number on way to handle this http://10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/ This website will create a disposable email

address that is valid for 10 minutes. So if you want to create pure “throw-away”

websites that require an email to verify, use thissite.

After 10 minutes that email address is no good,so just long enough for you to create the site,enter the email, verify your email and then itsgone.



The Hubpages team is founded by three guysout of Microsoft that were part of thesuccessful startup MongoMusic. The teamincludes Paul Edmondson, Jay Reitz, and PaulDeeds.

Hubpages is a “free-hosted community” typewebsite.

This is where you the user provide thecontent for the website.


Hubpages is another Web 2.0 site that is index andfavored by Google and the other Search Engines.

The reason for this is these sites are adding freshcontent all the time.

And that is the big thing that every Search Engine islooking for, fresh content.

Hubpages is also a revenue sharing type of system This means that if your page makes money, you will

share the money with Hubpages. You can also add Google Adsense to your pages as

well.







A few things to note about your profile onHubpages

You MUST add a picture! Remember, you want this to be a personal

connection you are making with the visitor. If you don’t want a picture of yourself, then

post your company logo.


Note that on the Profile, you have a Biooption here.

With the bio you can put in your information,but also note, it takes HTML CODE!

This is where you can put in KEYWORDS,from our research before, but MASK them.

Such as, “I enjoy my job as a PrivateInvestigator in Atlanta GA”



Here is where you can enter in theinformation about any affiliate program youare part of.

I suggest you at least sign up with

Google

Amazon

Ebay

Analytics


By doing this you will be able to make extramoney with your hubs that you create.

And you never know how much this could be. From $10 to $1000, you just can’t tell But it is really nice getting a surprise check in

the mail each month!


This is a way that you can use the URL trackerthat Hubpages likes to keep track ofeverything.

I suggest that instead you use GoogleAnalytics to do this.


One thing that became very apparent is thatthere could be some confusion between Hubsand Hubpages.

Lets clear this up You create a Hubpage Account Under this account you can have multiple

Hubs (think of them as articles, lens, pages) So, if I say you need lots of hubs, that means

you need to write about a lot of topics


BUT On the other hand you will need MULTIPLE

Hubpage Accounts. Why? What if your business hubpage account gets

shutdown for some reason? You lose everything! So, open multiple accounts on Hubpages so if

one gets closed down, you are not wiped out.


To make your first Hub, just look at the topand click on start a new hub


First you need to enter a Title for this hub. Now remember, it needs to be about what

your are going to write about AND it MUSThave a keyword you want to rank for!

So choose your title and put it in. As you enter the title, the hubpage URL will

be created. Next its time to choose a topic


Next, you need to choose the topic of yourHub.

From there you now need to choose thelayout of the Hub.

I normally choose the first option, but youneed to mix it up with the other hubs that youcreate.

Notice, that you can have a photo in justabout all of them.


And look at what’s next!


I told you I wasn’t crazy! Now it says add at least 2 tags, but you can

add more of them to this. And look just to the side! Hubpages is giving you some extra help and

telling you some other ideas for you to use astags!

If you click on one of the words, it willautomatically be added to the tag list

Next just click Continue


Next, notice that you will be warned about afew items that Hubpages does not want.

Make sure you are not going to violate these,or you will find your hub gone!

Now just enter the Capcha code from thenext page.


Now you are at the AssembleYour Capsulespage.

Here is where you will build you Hub for thistime.

Remember to look everything over on theSettings tab and then you need to check theSummary Text Tab

And then you need to check the Group tab.





Next, scroll down and choose the Photo youwant to show.

You do this by clicking on edit and the pickingthe photo.

Note that here you can choose a photo fromyour computer or from the web!

Make sure you check to see how it looks onyour hub, you might need to go back andchange the size of it from full to half orquarter.


Next you want to edit your Text section. Just click on the edit button and start adding

text to this section. NOTE: Make sure you follow this with your

writing: Keyword blah blah blah

End the paragraph with Keyword 2

Next paragraph about middle enter Keyword 3

After that, mix up the location of the keywords, andstick with no more that 5 keywords per text section.


Next you need to add a new capsule to yourhub.

Look at the top and choose Links from thebar


When you click on this, the links capsule will beadded to the bottom of your hub.

Just go and click Edit. You will then enter a title for the Link Capsule Then enter your URL You will then be prompted to enter a

description, be aware, you can not enter HTMLinto that description box.

And then click done, by the red x You are brought back to the main link capsule,

and click save.


Hubpages allows for the following items to be added: Text Video Photo Links News Comments RSS Poll Ebay Amazon Code Table Quiz


You should always add

Photo

Text (more than one)

Video (google loves video remember!)

Ebay (if it matches your topic)

Amazon (use a keyword for your topic)

RSS (this lets you be found easier)


Once you have added the RSS capsule, scrollto the bottom and click edit

Enter a title for the capsule Now, you need to note that it will ask for

Feed URL Guess what? You can create a RSS feed for

your company webpage and make that theRSS feed!

Or you could make your twitter account theRSS Feed!


Now that you have entered a new RSS feed,you need to click on Preview RSS.

This will validate that what you have enteredis a real RSS feed.

Now, just click on Save and your done!


Now, click on the Amazon button to add theAmazon capsule to the hub.

Scroll to the bottom and you will see theAmazon capsule

Click on Edit Now, you need to enter the title for this

capsule, make it something that tells peopleto buy!


There are two options here for products Choose specific products

Choose keywords

If you choose the “Choose specific products” then youneed to have the exact information about the productyou want to sell.

If you choose “Choose keywords” then you can entera keyword or keywords.

You can then click “Preview Amazon Results” and seewhat might show up.

When you are happy with the results, click save.


Now in this capsule, you need to give it a title. Next, you need to pick video you want to show. Your best bet here is to go toYouTube and find a

video you like. Once you find it, just click the button that says

URL can copy that. Now just paste that into the section that says

Video URL Now you can preview the video if you want. Next just click Save and you are done!


If you need to reorder any of the capsules,this is the time.

Just move up towards the top of the page toreorder the capsules

Just click and hold on one of the capsuletypes and drag it up to where you want it.

I always leave the comments at the bottom ofthe hub.

Then just click on Reorder Now.


Once your ready, just scroll up to the top ofthe page and click on Preview if you want tosee it.

If you are ready to publish, just click onPublish Now.


Now that you have published the hub, youhave two choices

Connect with Facebook

Tweet this

This way you can publish the information on yourFacebook account so others can check it out.

And you can tweet this hub information out toeveryone else as well.


Doesn’t this look like a Squidoo lens? Guess what? It does look just like it! So, why not copy this same hub over to a

Squidoo lens?? Get double out the same work



Now, how can we make sure we are gettingthe most out of the hub?

Well, it has to be free right? The answer is Google Analytics!!


Lets talk about how to set this up for HubpagesSign up for a Google Analytics account -

http://www.google.com/analytics. Log in to your Google Analytics account and

create a profile for the Hubpage you want totrack.

Make sure you keep each Hubpage accountseparate.

You might create more than one Hubpageaccount.


Track the website http://hubpages.com. You do not need to create independent profiles

for each of your hubs under an account. This is the most important - when you create a

Google Analytics profile, enter the URLhttp://hubpages.com.

You do not need to enter the URLs of yourdifferent hubs.

Google Analytics will be able to track and reporton all your existing hubs and any additional hubsthat you write and publish with just this singleURL information and a single profile.


Take note of the profile's UA-code. It is an ID of the form "UA-XXXXXXXX-X",

where X stands for a number. It could look like this: UA-80083212-2. Go

back to HubPages and go to the AffiliateSettings.

Fill in required UA-code for Google Analytics.


Now just sit back and wait. It could take afew hours before information is tracked.

I normally come back and look at it after 24hours.

At this point you can begin to see what partsof the hub people liked the most.

How they got to your hub How long they stayed on it What they clicked on, etc.


So, what are you going to write about? Anything and everything! Let me give you a few things that you could

use for this.


Log into your Gmail account and open a new tabon your browser.

Then go to: www.google.com/alerts Here you will setup a series of alerts on keywords

that you are interested in. Suggestions: Private investigator Surveillance case Computer security Personal security Use the titles of services you provide

Now that you have this setup, you will get astory that comes into your Gmail accountanytime that word is mentioned on the Web.

And when a story comes in, guess what?? You now have a HUB to write about! Plus, it will have links that you can put in It might have pictures And more!

or provide your own report or view on the topic!
