Saudi Arabia at a glanceMajor Investments on infrastructure to develop non-oil sectors

The kingdom is now considered as the economic powerhouse of Gulf Cooperation Council (KSA represents – 44% of the GCC GDP)

Saudi Arabia sits on more than 20% & 10% of world’s oil & gas reserves respectively

Spending in 2014 will rise SR855 billion, Education is allocated the biggest share of those departments disclosed in the budget, at 25 percent of total spending followed by the health and social affairs with 12.2 percent.

• Education and Training, Total expenditure: $56 billion (SR210 billion)

• Health and Social Affairs, Total expenditure: $28.8 billion (SR108 billion)

• Water, Agriculture, Industry, and Other Economic Resources, Total expenditure: $16.3 billion (SR61 billion)

• Infrastructure and Transportation, Total expenditure: $17.8 billion(SR66billion)

• Municipality Services, Total expenditure: $10.4 billion (SR39 billion) 16%

• Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - the two main contributors - are expected to grow by 4.0 percent and 3.5 percent respectively in 2013, and 4.5 percent and 4.0 percent respectively in 2014.

The Saudi Arabia's IT market is the largest in the Middle East and will remain so throughout the 2013–2017 forecast period

the government will continue to invest in large infrastructure projects

Government will be the fastest growing vertical with IT investment expanding at a CAGR of 12.9% through 2017.

The other two top-performing growth areas will be; Education (12.0%) and Oil and Gas (11.9%)

IT spending in Saudi Arabia to increase at a CAGR of 8.9% 2013-2017 to reach $14.20 billion in 2017.

From a technology perspective, investment growth will be strongest in IT services and Software.
