Inf.net is a community of virtual talking characters called infs. Users can create their own infs, design their appearance and teach them.

When the inf is ready, it can be posted on Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, Wordpress or any other website as a flash code. Inf’s conversation logs after each conversation can be improved by its creator to make the inf smarter.

iii.ru and inf.net

iii.ru is the project in Russian, launched in March 2009.

inf.net is an English version of the project with the same functionality started in January 2010.

How does it work?

• Users create their characters• Choose clothes and character appearance• Post infs on blogs, websites or social networks• Read conversations and teach infs on their basis• Discuss infs on the project’s forum and blog

Teaching infs

There are several ways to teach infs:

- Filling in answers to predefined frequently asked questions

- Creating new templates (i.e. “question-answer” pairs)

- Creating dialog trees- Building reactions to cues (timeout, mouse click,

first appearance etc.)- Much more (conditional operators, variables, sets

of synonyms)
