Key  Performance  Features  of  Jaws  3.0:  •  Uses  all  available  Cores,  up  to  16  on  the  system.  

•  For  PDF  workflows,  the  page-­‐independence  of  PDF  allows  Jaws  3  to  process  mulKple  pages  from  a  PDF  in  parallel.  

•  Internal  threading  speeds  processor  intense  operaKons  like  transparency  blending  and  color  space  conversion.  

•  Jaws  3  can  be  configured  to  process  mulKple  jobs  at  in  parallel.    

•  Updated  transparency  Kling  contributes  to  faster  transparency  processing.    

•  When  enabled,  Jaws  3’s  opKonal  pre-­‐displaylist  downsampling  reduces  image  processing  load.    

•  Job  profiling  eliminates  many  of  the  Jaws  2002.6  boRlenecks.  

•  Our  new  64-­‐Bit  memory  manager  maximizes  benefits  of  using  newer  64-­‐bit  operaKng  systems.    

•  The  addiKon  of  Dynamic  Memory  AllocaKon  means  that  Jaws  3  adjusts  to  the  dynamic  memory  needs  of  modern  workflows.

Jaws  3.0  –  Performance  Summary

•  Most  files  see  performance  improvement  in  Jaws  3.0  

•  Good  performance  with  simple  one  page  PDF  files  is  maintained  even  with  the  added  kernel  acKvity  working  with  mulKple  threads.    

•  PDF  files  with  many  pages  benefit  from  the  parallel  page  processing.  

•  PDF  files  with  transparency  benefit  from  mulK-­‐threading  and  automaKc  transparency  Kle  size  adjustments.  

•  All  files  benefit  from  improved  memory  management.
