•  One can choose technology and products to lower costs, but the effect as cost saving means are limit. It's important to view each project as a part of an overall larger deployment of a fibre network. As such it will be an ongoing effort over a longer period. Thus, one of the most cost saving efforts is to make sure deployments originates from long term business strategies and network strategies.

•  Unless this is the case, any network owner may face problems to connect all potential customers and large costs in restructure the network at a later stage.

“Retractable Techniques in fibre optic infrastructures”

•  The last mile deployments are facing a more and more stringent need of solutions which may be installed in very crowded and narrow pathways. The space inside the handholes, already occupied by the previously installed cables and closures, is very often limited to a very little available volume. The same happens inside the majority of Multi Dwelling Units built some tenths of years ago. The Retractable Techniques, avoiding any need of looping the cable as well as not requiring any space for splicing the fibres, do minimize both the space to be booked and the operation time on site.
