• Fewer buttons, less complexity for the customer compared to TRC5• High quality feel, clean and simple
• Aluminum cover• Pick-up detection, when you pick up the TRC6 it sends out a burst of IR signals to wake up nearby systems
• The pick-up detection resets after 20 seconds if no movement detected• Pick-up detection can not be turned off

New Additions to the Endpoints Portfolio – SX80
13
• Not possible to dual register the SX80 on H323 and SIP at the same time
• SIP will take precedence over H323 if both are enabled
• If both SIP and H323 configurations are set and both protocols are enabled, the system will only register on SIP and H323 will be “inactive” even if the configuration is set to “On”.
• Affects only SX80 at this point
H323 or SIP

New Additions to the Endpoints Portfolio – SX80
14
• Successor to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding)
• HEVC – High Efficiency Video Coding
• Cisco is first, setting the standard for video endpoints
• Can be used up to 720p60 and 1080p30 in terms of resolution (p2p only)
• Can be used up to 3 Mbits in terms of bandwidth
• The main purpose of using H.265 is to have better resolution when using lower bandwidth or to save bandwidth and having better resolution
• When the bit rate increases to above 3Mbps the point of saving bandwidth vs resolution is gone. The protocol will change to H.264 when Mbps is high enough to support H.264 1080p60.
• Can be seen in the xstatus mediachannels/call info as “HEVC”
• H.265 is supported with CUCM from version 10.0

TelePresence and UC endpoints typically deployed on separate UCM clusters
Limited interoperability between endpoints (TelePresence Server was the bridge between these formerly non-interoperable worlds)
Lots of product functional overlap in every category: endpoints,
call control, B2B connectivity, bridging, scheduling and management
•Different dial plans (numerical vs. alpha-numeric centric)
•Different methods of provisioning, management and monitoring
•Feature inconsistency across the portfolio

• TelePresence and traditional UC (telephony and SD video) all collapsed on a converged UC Manager cluster. Former TANDBERG endpoints predominantly still on VCS Control
• Full native any-to-any interoperability between all endpoints and bridges. Ad hoc bridges under Conductor on UCM, scheduled bridges still on VCS Control
• Product functional overlap diminished; roles clarified but not all consolidation fully realized yet
Homogenized dial plans: both numeric and alphanumeric now fully supported across most of the portfolio
Provisioning, management, monitoring coming together – Prime Collaboration growing in functionality
Feature and User Experience consistency across the portfolio getting better and better
