PREPARATORY STEPS Strategic Programming: priority setting on a three-year basis aligning
implementation with major political initiatives (12 Focus areas). Bi-annual work programmes: 2014-2015, 2016-2017, 2018-2019, 2020 Horizon 2020 Groups: Commission internal preparatory groups ensuring
collective approach and consistency. One for each Societal Challenge. DG AGRI co-chairs with RTD the Horizon group for SC2
International Cooperation: COM Communication of September 2012 JTI – Bio-based Industries: COM proposal of 10 July Advisory Groups Calls: to be launched in December (11th)

the "Strategic Action Plan" covering the 1st sub-challenge - Close cooperation with RTD and other services for the 2014-2015 Work Programme

sector) Genetic resources Organic matter content of soils Integrated pest management (IPM)
The Focus Groups (max 20 experts) To create a forum for sharing knowledge and experience in the field of the Group’s activity To propose directions for research, directions for projects/ideas for OGs, including ways to disseminate the practical knweledge gathered.
