Log-in Page

• Go to www.wattsaverprogram.com

• The default User ID is your Westar Energy account number.

• The default Password is the serial number from the thermostat.

• The User ID and Password can be changed to your preferences after you log in.

• This page provides basic information about what is available on the programming interface.

• The navigation menu at the left provides easy access to all functions. This menu will appear on all screens.

Welcome to Westar Energy’s WattSaver program

Thank you for participating in Westar Energy’s WattSaver® program. By participating in this program, you are helping manage energy use in our region. This partnership with Westar Energy will also help delay the need for additional power plants and help preserve the environment for future generations.

On this site you will be able to:

Westar Energy is pleased to announce that a new version of the programming interface has been introduced. Whether you are a first time user or regular user of this site, we encourage you to view the updated Quick Reference Guide by

clicking here.

• Program your thermostat temperatures and schedules• Opt out of a cycling event• View when cycling events occurred• Manage your User ID and Password

(Please Note: The programming interface requires Internet Explorer version 8 and higher or Mozilla Firefox version 3.5 and higher.)

• The navigation menu contains links to all of the functions on the web interface.

• Under Account, click on GENERAL to display the home page.

• Under Thermostat, the serial number for each WattSaver thermostat will be displayed.

• Click on thermostat serial number to display scheduling options and activity history for that thermostat.

• Under Programs, CYCLING HISTORY will display all cycling event information for each thermostat. You may choose to not participate in one cycling event per month (i.e., OPT OUT). Select OPT OUT to display details of previous Opt Outs.

• CONTACT US displays our toll-free hotline phone number as well as an email link.

• FAQ displays the Frequently Asked Questions.

• CHANGE LOGIN will allow you to reset your User ID and Password.

Thermostat Schedules Page• To create a new schedule, click

on the serial number of the thermostat you wish to program. If you have more than one WattSaver, all serial numbers will be listed.

• Then click on SCHEDULES. For first time use, this is the screen you will see.

• If you have created several schedules, they will be displayed on this screen.

• The most recent schedule sent from the web interface will be shown at the top.

• The web interface is a one-way communication feature and does not display current settings or temperatures at the thermostat, only the settings last sent through the interface (i.e., thermostat settings will not match Last Schedule Sent if someone has manually changed the settings on the thermostat itself).

• To create a new schedule, click on CREATE.

• Next, select the type of schedule you want to create.

• For demonstration purposes, we selected “Same schedule every day of the week.”

to create, the Create Schedule screen will appear next.

• To name this schedule, place your cursor in the Schedule Name field and type in a name.

• To set times and temperatures, place your cursor in the field and either type your setting, or use the slide bar. Simply click and hold on the solid circle and move left or right to the desired setting.

• Repeat this process until all fields are programmed to your desired settings.

• You can use your keyboard’s TAB button to advance to the next field.

• When complete, click on SAVE.

• For additional help, click on the HELP button.

• If you wish to run the new schedule, simply click on SEND NOW.

• Click OK to confirm this action.

• A message will then appear at the top of the screen confirming that the schedule has been sent (see inset below).

• Allow approximately five minutes for the new schedule to begin running.

• To see all of your saved schedules, and to either edit them or send to your thermostat, simply click on SCHEDULES.

Copy a Thermostat Schedule

• You can also copy any schedule you have created.

• Click on COPY if you wish to copy your schedule.

• The schedule you wish to copy will be displayed in a pop up window (see inset below).

• You may choose to rename your new schedule.

• Click SAVE.

• The copied schedule will appear under Other Schedules as seen in the inset photo below.

• Your WattSaver thermostat can also accept temporary changes to settings by using the Manual interface.

• Under Thermostat in the left navigation menu, click on the serial number of the thermostat you wish to change settings on, then click on MANUAL.

• You have two HOLD options:

• Temporary Hold - Press or to select the new temperature you want until the next pre-programmed change in your schedule. This creates a Temporary Hold, which will appear on your thermostat screen after the signal is received.

• Adjust MODE and FAN settings.

• Click SEND to send these settings to the thermostat.

• Allow approximately five minutes for the thermostat to receive these settings.

• To return to your pre-programmed schedule, click RUN SCHEDULE.

• Permanent Hold - Press or to select the new temperature you want. Click HOLD to maintain this temperature. This creates a Permanent Hold until you click RUN SCHEDULE, which will cancel the Permanent Hold setting and return to your pre-programmed schedule.Send

• If you wish to rename your thermostat from the default serial number setting, click EDIT next to the serial number.

• A field will appear in place of the thermostat serial number where you can type in a different name (see inset).

• Click SAVE.

• To view, click on the serial number of the thermostat you want to see the activity for, then click HISTORY.

• Under Programs, select CYCLING HISTORY. This will display the current day’s cycling data, if applicable.

• Click VIEW COMPLETE HISTORY to see all available cycling data.

• Next to View (see inset), you can select Past Day, Past Week, Past Month, Past Year or All since installation.

Programs - Opt OutYou may choose to not participate in one cycling event per month during cycling season (June through September) (i.e., opt out).

• To opt out on a certain date using the interface, click on OPT OUT under Programs.

• Type or select the date you wish to opt out in the Start Date field.

• Select Duration. (Note you may only opt out one day, so “1 Day” is the only option.)

• Click SUBMIT.

• To opt out for another day in another month, repeat the above process.

• Your opt out date(s) will appear on the Home page.

• As seen at left, all previous opt out history will also be displayed.

• Next, if you have more than one thermostat, select the thermostat you wish to opt out.

• Please let us know why you are opting out (see inset below). Your response is optional.

• Click OPT OUT to continue.

• A confirmation screen will appear (see first inset below). Click OK.

• Your opt out selections will be displayed (see second inset below).

• Repeat the process if you want to schedule another opt out date.

Change Login

• To change your User ID and Password from the default settings, click CHANGE LOGIN under Administration.

• There are separate fields for User ID and for Password.

• WattSaver personnel do not have access to your User ID and Password once it has been changed. Please record your User ID and Password in the Quick Reference Guide provided at the time of installation.
