Performance Innovation Transport (PIT) Brings North America and Europe Together to Improve Trucking Efficiency Minister of Transport to Speak at Emerging Technologies Conference
Montréal, QC – February 14, 2014 – FPInnovations’ Performance Innovation Transport (PIT) group, a not‐for‐profit engineering and research group for the North American trucking industry, today announced the Honorable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport will provide opening remarks and its Emerging Technologies conference at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel. The conference will bring together 250 industry leaders and innovators to establish dialogue between developers, suppliers and fleet owners about emerging North American and European technology for the trucking industry. “As technology developers race to be first to market with new innovations, fleet operators can be overwhelmed and ultimately disappointed with this ‘rush to market’ attitude,” said Yves Provencher, director of PIT. “More than ever before there is a need for both parties to meet and focus on important needs, such as fuel savings, cost control, safety and drivers.” While European and North America technologies will be the main focus of the event, additional session topics include:
• Emerging Technology in the Trucking Industry, chaired by Susan Fall of LaunchIt Public Relations
• Driver Assistance, chaired by Jim Park, Contributing Editor of Heavy Duty Trucking • Technology Supplier and User Roundtable, chaired by Rolf Lockwood, Vice President,
Editorial at Newcom Business Media, publisher of Today's Trucking and Transport Routier
Christopher Trajkovski, Bison Transport’s VP of fleet maintenance has been named honorary president of the conference. “Bison Transport is proud to be associated with the PIT Conference,” he said. “We believe that innovation is key to our company’s success and we need to be at the forefront of new developments.” About Performance Innovation Transport Based in Montréal, Québec, Performance Innovation Transport (PIT) is a group of FPInnovations.
