What is a podcast?

A podcast is a series of digital media files, usually either digital audio or video, that is made available for download via web syndication. It is generally in mp3 o AAC format. Podcasts, videocasts or vodcasts can be downloaded and retrieved later by the user in a computer or portable audio device. (Wikipedia, 2009)

Besides podcasts, which are very popular nowadays, there are other web 2.0 audio tools like: Skype, Voicethread , Snapvine, and video tools like: You Tube o Google Video.These tools are all very friendly and easy to use. They can be embedded in Wikis, Blogs and any other Web 2.0 site.

Steps to follow

Go to Audacity. Download the free version of Audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3

Beta (Unicode) and the lame.dll file Create your audio file. See the following slide. Go to http://www.podbean.com/ Sign up, confirm your account request and log in. Then, follow the tutorial to publish your podcast.

First, get familiar with Audacity tools and go to Edit > Preferences

In preferences, click on channels and select 1 (Mono) and accept

Click on the mic icon and select vertical stereo

Start by clicking on the record button

To save your project, click on File > Export
