IS THERE A WAY TO SLOW DOWN THE HUNTINGTON'S

DISEASE?

WHAT IS THE HUNTINGTON?

Is a disorder passed down through families.

Nerve cells waste away, or degenerate, in the brain

. It’s caused by a genetic defect on chromosome 4

Huntington's targets the brain, triggering the

death of cells vital to movement, speech, mood, and

memory

REPETITION OF THE PROTEIN

FAMILY TREE

HYPOTHESIS

As I study the DNA in the chromosome 4 there is a

possible prevention to the disease.

OBJECTIVES

Find a prevention for the Huntington’s Disease

altering the DNA sequence.

METHODOLOGY

It will consist of three phases:

Phase 1- Living cells

Phase 2- Rats

Phase 3- Humans

It can be repeated several times

EXPECTED RESULTS

Phase 1- find what is slowing down the HD using

the protein

Phase 2- that the HD slows down

Phase 3- same or better results from phase 2
